Because he's just so good, he makes everyone else look bad.

He's so laid-back, he makes Anders, Sebastian, & Aveline look preachy and annoying.

He's so open-minded, he makes Fenris, Carver & Anders look like whiny, bigoted jerks.

He's so smart, he makes Merrill look naive and childish.

He's so gentlemanly, he makes Isabela look like a ****.

He's so sexy, he makes everyone (except Hawke) look unattractive.

He's so badass, he makes everyone (except Hawke) look like weak wimps.

He's so charming, he makes everyone (except Sarcastic Hawke) look like a charmless fool.

In the Hawke's own words, "Varric must be stopped!"

Seriously, if it weren't for Varric, there won't be so much hate on the other characters.

Seriously BioWare, stop making characters as awesome as Varric. He's too awesome to exist and he makes everyone else look bad.

Yeah that is true.


I like Varric a lot. My Rogue/Shadow Hawke are best friends with Varric. There wasn't a scene that they didn't get a long. my hawke was a dedicated Funny hawke too.

I really hope he's a companion again. I think he's got enough potential for future stories and still has a bit of mystery around his background. It doesn't have to be a rehash (unless it's all about his brother, don't do that please).

Like many have said, Varric was by far the best character in DA2. I was also surprised by how much I liked Isabela. Merrill had a few moments, and Aveline grew on me. The rest were just not ver likable.

I like the Varric Godfather pic.

I always have my dwarven buddy around, even if my Hawke is also an archer.  Without Varric, the game just seems like something is missing.

varric is pure awesomeness he rocks.

Varric was probably the most sane. So yes, I approve. I also liked the Hawke siblings (Carver could be whiny, but in his position I'd probably feel the same, and Bethany can be kind of a wimp), Aveline (though I take issue with her and how she handled the whole fugitive who ran to the Qunari thing), and Fenris (who could have toned down the brooding just a bit- but I love his conversations with Varric). And he had the best party banter with the other companions.

He had his moment with the idol and wanting to kill Bartrand, but you can talk him out of it. He's not unreasonable.
