All it does is appear behind me and do nothing. In MP, I can spawn it near enemy and score lots of kills, but in SP, it did not do anything at all. Did not even restore my sheild.

MP doesn't have defensive drone. You're referring to combat drone. Defensive drone is a bonus power.

Defensive drone is crap. It's only possible use is to keep husks of a stationary sniping Shepard. Outside of that: it's useless. Even the Geth Prime doesn't know how to use it.

The best way to use Defense Drone is to never use it.

Basically what known_hero said. It is good for a stationary sniper-focused Shepard. Outside of that, you have better options.

It's actually not half bad on a Novaguard, particularly if you didn't take half-blast. There are better options available though. And it's also annoying to have to recast it before every fight, ruins Biotic Charge's synergy. It shouldn't disappear when there are no enemies around.

The drone is bugged, at least on consoles.

It doesn't visually follow you around which makes it very misleading. The 5th tier of upgrades are swaped. Attack rate gives you damage and range while damage and range gives you attack rate.

Its kinda weak anyways. Sad how bioware didn't cared enough about the power to buff or even fix the bugs for it.

BioWare doesn't care about SP at all beyond making money off DLC. There are a ton of underpowered weapons and powers that need some attention, but after 7 months literally nothing has been done for SP other than a few bug fixes (that no one really cared about).

Yup, ME2 is better for SP combat, but just play ME3 MP instead... it is a lot better.
