Hi everyone, I have been browsing the interent and forums all day trying to find an awser to this question, but my copy of mass effect which I purchased via Steam will not work,what happens is that i open mass effect and then the box art in a rectangle appears, loading the game, the screen goes black for three seconds and then shuts off and a window pops up saying "Mass Effect has stopped working, windows is looking for a solution, but it never finds one, I have performed the following methods:
Uninstalled my anti virus system (AVG 9.0)
Ran the game in he binaries folder under "run as administrator"
 Installed the lastest patch for the game
 Brought a cracked version of the game into the binaries folder
 Ran Steam as an administrator
 Brought UAC down to the very bottom.
I really want to play but nothing has worked for me, any help would be so great as I want to play this thing now.

You haven't offered enough information to work with. There is a guide to reporting that is pinned on the top here. You haven't mentioned the patches, either. Windows7 won't work with the unpatched game at all, but that has been repeated a thousand times where you could have found it long ago.

You have to obtain and install the patch to do anything at all in Windows7.
