The intellectual property of 38 studios is going to be auction some time soon right here at chace Rutternberg & freeman, LLP

wouldn't be cool if EA brought the rights and had Bioware design Kingdoms of Amalur 2? Just think what it could be with Biowares talents and resources! Image IPB

Hell no. I don't want to see it ran into the ground. I'ld rather it was shot in the head, than spend the rest of its life wearing hipster shirts and glasses with its lower half mounted into a segway.

Kingdoms of Amalur 2: Now with brand new, never before seen guns, co-op, and clunky cover system mechanics. You're mom will hate it!

Anyone but EA could buy the rights and I'd be happy. If EA bought the rights we'd get a rushed, cut-down version with a dozen different pre-order packages, Day 1 DLC, DLC Season Pass, and tacked on multiplayer that would instantly be fragmented by DLC map packs.

Wow.....don't know why people are being so snippy towards the OP. It was just an idea chillax homies.

Anyways...I loved the first one and I'd much rather have a sequel from EA then no one at all. And I think if Bioware made it then it'd be pretty fun. So your not alone OP . :)

I just hopes its bought by someone who will actual use it.
Its a all too common tactic for companies to buy stuff just so there competitors can't.

Studio 38 was connected with EA when they made KOA. I think the game is too colourful for bioware though, too acid trip.

Let's put some LIs all over this ****!

I played part  Amaleur for a while and it confused me. Only place where I like to see WoW graphics is WoW. By default such candyness annoys me and completely wrecks any potential " serious" aspects of a storyline.

Bioware wouldn't develop it. They're practically done working on the IP's of others (well save for their Star Wars MMO) and have said so themselves hence why we've got the Dragon Age and Mass Effect series and not the next series set in the Forgotten Realms or Star Wars universe.

Besides why would they work on a Kingdoms of Amalur title when they have their own fantasy RPG universe with plenty of potential?

Likely - if EA did buy it - the development would be done by another studio or a new studio.

I'd love for Amalur to be saved, but I'm not sure if I'm okay with EA saving it.

Anyone but EA. EA's tentacles are already strangling enough companies out there.

"The auctions will not include 38 Studios’s intellectual property."

Eh, it's all a confusing mess. Some articles state that Rhode Island might not sell and therefore Bank of New York Mellon Trust Co. is trying to obtain the IP before it dies, other articles state that the IP will definitely be up for auction this month.
