I came to the forums because I specifically noticed this issue while playing. To not have Bioware address it is unacceptable.

As players I feel we really need to let our voices be heard on this.

This thread has now gone on for over 3 pages with most of the playerbase in near-unanimous agreement thus far. This pleases me greatly, and is a great example of what BSN can do when we all work together.

I encourage you all to add more information to the thread, contributing your own information, experiences, and data to what we've already seen here.

We will continue to push forward on this thread until we get our answers.

unfair and cheap game designs

It is unfair but probably not intentional. Hopefully an answer will be forthcoming. ME3 MP fun rating has taken a kick in the pants for me at the moment, despite the awesomeness of N7HQ and the rest of Retaliation.

I agree that it's fun, it's my post CSS MP shooter that can really kept me playing, not even COD or BF3 kept me playing.

we have lesser number, weaker than the enemy, no perfect accuracy. Our only defense is the gating and cover, and they took both away. Unless the the op pack and medgel is a permanent consumable, it's very hard to survive.
Like someone has mentioned the hack objective, it's extremely bad on gold/plat. At the moment, I find U/U/silver is where the fun is. HOpe they really tone down the enemy damage, or give us more survivability options.

I'm beginning to adapt to the changes, but I still don't like them. The game is not nearly as dynamic. My maxed fitness Justicar can no longer use Biotic Sphere aggressively. My Krogan Sentinel and Soldier are hugging cover because of how quickly Assault Troopers wipe their health. My Destroyer has become a bipedal turret rather than Iron Man.

Its not the end of the world, but in one fell swoop Bioware wiped out several previously viable builds and strategies. Its just not as fun as it was, even if it is more challenging.

This one problem is so glaring, so overpowering, and so there that it overshadows literally every other bug and balance issue in the game, hands down.

That's saying a lot.

Agreed. My Phoenix Adept has more holes in him these days than a pin cushion or colander. My Phoenix Vanguard is a bit better because he can recharge his shields but that depends on me getting a 'lock on' in time.

I think the main problem this game has is that every unit can kill you in two to three shots/bursts, while they themselves have a ton of health.

Yep.

I guess being reaper indoctrinated just makes everything super.

Where can I sign up. No matter what I do, I can't seem to match their speed, accuracy, kill rate, kill speed, and general ignoring game mechanics.

The "health gate" never shielded you from automatic fire nor DOT.

The mechanic protects you from one lethal attack. It does not matter how powerful or weak the attack.

That's not true at least for automatic fire.
Check any gameplay recorded prior to last patch.

link please if it is as easy to find as you say

As example:
www.youtube.com/watch
4:50-4:57. The Drell was clearly under fire from Marauder and Cannibal, but he didn't received damage to health. Notice that after he applied Ops pack his barriers goes down at the same moment. Also notice different colored splash effects when bullets hit his health (which isn't not going down) and barrier (which is).

He wasn't even hit by most the machinegun fire. He avoided most of it and was hit by the melee. He didn't take fire until he used the ops pack.

Shield gate doesn't protect you from automatic fire or the praetorian beams... They hit multiple times. Shield gate protects from one attack.

Something is definitely weird though. I don't know why.

Yeah, gotta throw my lot in with this too. Characters like the Destroyer are far more squishy than they used to be and it's horribly noticeable.

Last week Mon-Sat I went thru 80+/- Medigels. I didnt use 80 the whole month of September. If we cant get a response on here, we should start a PM chain to the devs questioning it. After 100 PMs in an hour they should respond.

I thought BW had a really good thing going with incremental changes over time. This week really threw that concept out the window.

Healthgate
Map changes
New enemy units
Change to grab mechanics
Change to unit immunities

Any of these at one time would not feel too overwhelming but all at once has caused too many little problems to feel like many BIG problems. It is nice the PCs got some good things also like the eliminating the kill requirement for the the Tech Burst (Cryo and Fire). But not enough feel we gained anything close to what we lost.

I've thought the same thing.  It really is a lot of changes all at once.  Kind of overwhelming to figure out what is going on.

The problem with credits reward was discussed everywhere, and with the introduction of +10% extraction bonus, i doubt the reward will be increased further.

However, it is indeed a +1 in the problem of the healthgate because the game is getting harder and harder since the release, while the rewards are the same:

-Bioware modified the enemy forces over time, so they force teams to keep moving instead of camping. I'm ok with that, and jumping behind a new cover with just a bit of health left was really challenging and, sometimes, even satisfying (healthgate working).

-Now, teams are forced to leave cover just to be ripped off by a random cannibal hiding behind 2 banshees and 3 brutes. This is not challenging at all, it's frustrating.

The fact that enemies can shoot through friendly units (without any limit) for full damage while we can't unless we have AP mod (which is limited in distance and reduces damage output after piercing obstacles anyway) has become a serious issue, ridiculous i would say: before this issue, we could at least back up, realizing we were taking fire from a hidden enemy, now we just drop dead with no apparent reason while Atlases/Primes are reloading and Banshees/Brutes are simply screaming at us. :(

Yep, there have been too many direct and indirect buffs to the enemies that can't be balanced by giving us easy fire and cryo explosions or some shiny new toys. (Not that I'm ungrateful about the latter two!)
This is the worst one, though. Everything else we can adjust to, but considering the insane accuracy and damage output the enemies already have (let alone the cheapness), changing something that will affect just about every playstyle is a terrible idea.

That Bioware hasn't responded, although they've been responding a lot lately (which is awesome, keep it up!), makes me think that this was either intentional or unavoidable or something went wrong and it would require another patch to fix it and we all know how quickly patches get released. :-/

I'm hoping for a serious damage nerf for Geth and some Cerberus units, the Collectors could probably use one, too. I just don't think that's going to happen. (And if it does, it will be like the Eagle... "buffs".)

Crazy thinking here, but perhaps it had something to do with the DOT from Atlas rockets in the latest patch/balance?

Yeah something is really wrong at the moment. You die so fast in circumstances you would normally get through fine. Taking fire for 3 seconds off anything in the game is putting you down and using a medi gel is no longer getting you out of immediate danger either.

You will always find people like that. But they don't represent the playerbase in general !!
