I´ve noticed this since the Retaliation DLC install.

After the new DLC I´ve played hosting as Human Vanguard vs. Reapers/Gold and the way I was used to go through every wave before was not possible in any way. In wave 6 I had used already all medigels and ops packs, normally I would have used 1-2 medigels and 2-3 ops packs until extraction.

Anyone saying this is not a bug, an (un)intentionally removed shield/healthgate doesn´t know what he/she is even talking about.

Then the game is effectively boned for months.  This isn't a PC only title in which they can rush out a single patch fix.  The cost and certification process will exact a toll.

For what it's worth, I remember the same quote--but I just spent an hour trying to find it, and couldn't.

You forgot Phantoms. If they fixed the gating back to the way it was,  I could deal with the cannibals, marauders, and cents. But... dat Phantom. :/

Meanwhile we will have players giving up mid-matches thinking that the game has gotten too hard for them to handle.

And two more times today from different players I've heard:

"Why am I going down so much?  I can always take x-enemy with x-character." 

Very nearly word for word from both players.

I'm late to the party but the healthgate is a major issue. I've adjusted my game but it's only because I've gone to playing decoy/turret/drone classes to draw fire. I miss my Batarians.

Yea I've been noticing a problem as well. Players that I normally play with that are usually good are going down in record numbers. It's really frustrating being the only one left in a round. Silver has definitely felt harder.

This would explain why my Asari builds don't feel the same. Something needs to be done about this.

I think the only reason it hasn't been worse is that the KRO TEAM favors classes with insane durability in the first place. We all use Krogans, but RoadGGG favors the N7 Destroyer as a backup, CeilingKid favors the N7 Shadow, and I tend to use Turians. The end result is that we've survived many, many gold runs, but there is no question that survival rates are way down.

This is a fatal bug that will functionally kill this game if not dealt with.

Interesting, so it's not just in our heads lol Well, the sooner this s**t gets sorted out the happier we will all be :)

I wonder if the new enemy types seems a tad over powered because of this issue...? Then again i've seen some absurb downs when it comes to Dragoons, Geth Bombers and the entire Collector faction...

if its a bug im gonna move on from this game, im not waiting for another patch <_<:pinched::o

they should temporarily scaledown difficulties: bronze should be silver, silver should be gold and gold should be platinum, bronze should stay bronze if the devs want.

I have been wondering about this, if it is not a bug would they consider removing the health segments and make it one long bar to restore. Also an instant shield recharge for survival packs and stim packs would be appreciated, no more half second for it to fully refill just make it instant.

To compensate then all enemies should have their gates removed as well. That can be done via weekly balance changes and not require a patch whereas on our own characters it probably will.

Look how quickly I go down in this video at 33:54. Phantom takes down my shields and I get instantly killed (not sync-killed, just regular death), no delay whatsoever. It must be the lack of shield gates.

Oh wait... that was recorded in August.

Honestly, looking at my old videos, I'm not sure anything's really different.

There has been zero official response yet. Draw your own conclusions.

As for changes to the gate,  it's been widely documented by several, including here. There's a lot of cases of no shields = mooks annihilate you.

Linking the same video a hundred times doesn't change the fact that he's killed by the Praetorian beam in the only scene that remotely qualifies as 'proof' for the gate conspiracy. Beam is not affected by the gates.

Not saying that nothing has vhanged, but I have yet to see actual proves. From others as well as my own videos.



actually, at about 5:30 in the video a Scion takes out all his shields and some health in one shot, he stim packs, another single shot takes out all his shields again and down him.

Thank you. Your video is the exact proof that something is not working well.

Let's see what happens here:

In the first shot we see you are taking some heavy shield damage, from what I believe is the Phantom you are aiming at. Your health is 3 bars.:

Again, second shot you are still taking damage to your shield. Health still at 3 bars:

In the third shot you manage to get away and your shield start replenishing. Health still at 3 bars:

Fourth shot you get caught again, losing shields. Health still at 3 bars:

On the fifth shot you have exhausted your shields and now your health is taking damage:

Turian receives fire from 3 cannibals.

First shot and second shot. His SHIELDS are STILL THERE, but his health is taking damage:

What would have happened in August, when you recorded that video, if this "bug" was in effect like it is now? You would have died. In the second shot you would be dead.

I've spent over 630 hours playing this game, which is kind of sad. I know when something has changed. I'm suddenly using TWICE the consumables that I used to in order to survive a gold match.

If this isn't fixed, all we're going to see is Harrier-wielding infiltrators from now on.
