He does.  It's on a point system, and you have to have so many points.  If he is hostile or neutral, you start off with a couple of fewer points, but even if he's full in love, if you lose enough points with your answers, he will reject the ritual.

I always tell him the whole truth and nothing but the truth, but haven't ever had him refuse. You must have to pick pretty callous responses to get him to refuse.

That's why I take the ultimate responsibility upon myself by basically telling him not to ask so many questions and to do it.   My intention is always to deal with any fallout myself so I also always tell Mo' that I'll follow her.  She should expect no less after taking advantage of us when we're at our most vulnerable.   When you have the conversation at the end with him it turns out he figured it all out for himself.  Brilliant game, brilliant character.

Well, I always pretty much told him everything and it seemed to me that



1. He doesn't really want to die (unless for his country and/or the love of his life), so even if the ritual doesn't sit well with him it is not so hard to convince him

2. He looks bloody terrified of Morrigan when you watch the two of them

3. He probably still enjoyed it on a purely physical level. Morrigan, more than likely, is that good. Though in the morning he might feel like after a night of heavy drinking. ("Oh no. I didn't, did I. Yes I did." *groan*)

No, that would explain Alistair disappearing.  Pretty sure the reaction to that would be a punch hard enough to destroy his skull.  I'm gonna say, even if there were the slightest chance of that happening, Alistair would retain enough sense of self-preservation to keep his damn mouth shut.
