no you're right...a lot of men sleep around or cheat because they have a weak will and can't push aside the urges their "control rod" gives them....not that it's excusable..it's not..but for men there's an underlying drive.
when women sleep around..they do it because they can...or because they're not happy with their current S.O. (be it husband, boyfriend, friend)..there is no underlying driving force for them to ignore to stay faitful and not **** around.
or in other words..careful with your backhanded insults to men....at least men can say "hey I'm a guy, and I have no self control over my penis"..whereas women can only say "I'm a ****"
[/quote]
So what is this underlying drive or force that excludes men from moral or intellectual accountability?

Lol. Are you old enough to drive?
Seriously, though. You really have no clue. But you'll learn, all in good time.

lol..ignorant, idiotic presumption once again....but whatever you have to cling too to keep it goin child. And love the stab at my age...shows how brilliant you really are..nowhere is age brought up..but..OH YAH....insulting my age helps you keep this going.
whatever you have to do...
I on the other hand am done with this...I don't argue with idiots..especially on the internet.

So your age could be an issue?

Perhaps that compelled me to put 'idiotic words into your mouth" seeing as how they came out of there in the first place.
Sexism? Hmm, I can re-read, but all I stated is that what goes for women with certain desires, goes for men. Sort of equal-ish? As in "I know plenty of man-wh0res and man-s!uts".
Oh, I get it. Equal == sexism. Right. I bow before your superior intellect.

I seem to sort of have agreed with you, no? I asked whether you thought women have no sex-drive.
If your statement was meant sarcastically, denote it. Words do not allow the emotions/feelings to come through in the same manner as inflection of voice and body language.
The post you aimed this at, claimed nothing of the sort. Get your sources straight. Aside from that, the poster somehow did manage to come across as joking, whereas you come across as something entirely different.
Keep your insults to yourself. Learn how to interact properly. Either that, or be prepared to be pointed and laughed at.

From what I've seen, I would say that women have even more sex drive than men these days.
They are just more picky

The look on his face and his character makes me feel that if he really enjoyed it, he'd hate himself for doing so and want to scrub his skin off with lye.
Poor thing.
If he'd had a determined look on his face like "Okay, let's get this over with..." I'd have thought maybe he'd make the best of it, so to speak, but he didn't.
I don't think I'd have enjoyed sleeping with Morrigan. Her entirely un-sexy "'Tis cold in my tent" is the biggest turn off in the game. That she thinks so incredibly hot yet is so very, very bad at actually being hot...for me, anyway. I love her character. I find her entirely un-sexy though.
I guess I can just consider how unsexy she is to me, so I ascribe that to Alistair. And if she drugs him or hypnotizes him or is somehow deeply appealing to him, that's about as much fun as me being roofied at a frat party and walking out thinking that was so hot...
Just...ugh.
No, I don't think he enjoyed it voluntarily. His body might have. But I think that probably made it worse.
Actually, I don't find her sexy either. And not just because I despise her. But when I played a guy character and romanced her the shot in the love scene where he grabs her face as if to kiss her made me go like, "Yikes! She actually ISN'T that hot." And when he leans in to kiss her in those scenes out in the world or at camp I felt the same way. You get close enough to her and she isn't actually that hot. To me anyway. So my guy kicked her to the curb and went for Leliana, who close up is a lot hotter.

A physical reaction is just that. It's not like he went behind the femwarden's back and tried to have sex with Morri. In fact, Alistair doesn't like Morri. The only reason he can be talked into it is because the warden wants to live. Alistair, really, if NOT persuaded otherwise, would rather die than have sex with Morrigan.
Like Cammen said to Gheyna, he's doing it for YOU. Unlike Cammen, he really IS just doing it for you!
Edit: Morrigan is beautiful. But even if she weren't, you don't have to be HOT in order to have someone fall in love with you! I never did the Morri love story, but there's got to be a reason there are so many guys devoted to that story.

You see, that's why I think Loghain's reaction should have been used for Alistair. Just to please the one's who romance him.
Loghain: "An odd request. I will just pretend that it's my dear departed wife I'm sleeping with
Morrigan; "you envision sleeping with a as corpse being better?"
Lohain: Yes.
Morrigan: I see (blows out candle) This will just be a minute or two.
This is not verbatim, but pretty close.
I would bet anything that the Alistair fanclub would prefer that response from him. Yes? No? What?
Yes. I would, actually. Makes me like Loghain a great deal, in fact.

So...you convince him to do something he really, really, really doesn't want to do, something that if you play your cards right he will refuse to do. He does it because he loves you and is trying to save *your* life. That's the only reason. He would rather die than save himself this way. And you punish him for it? Bwah? How does that even make a little sense?

I agree with this note of confusion. He'll outright say he'll do it if it means it might save the PC or Riordan and, even with that mativation, he's sickened by it and can still refuse if you don't persuade him. The only real benefit he would get out of the whole thing is getting to be with the PC if they otherwise survive. If you're not going to give him that, for petty reasons, then let him die.
The ritual doesn't change the way Alistair feels about the PC or Morrigan. Ethics of the god-baby aside (and the ethics of implicating him in all that) it ends up being a non-issue for the relationship.

I do let him die now. I did the ritual on my first playthrough, not really knowing what would happen in the future yet. I will do it once to become Queen, just to get the ending once, but after these two, he's gone. I don't actually do the ritual to save myself (if I'm in a romance with him), it's because I found out the very first time (before I reloaded) that he sacrifices himself in the end without giving you the choice to stop it, and quite frankly I find it unfair that these two character have to sacrifice themselves in order to save a country and its people who were more interested in fighting each other over the throne and not the bigger threat. My first playthrough was as a Dalish Elf and she sure wasn't about to sacrifice herself for the betterment of a bunch of humans who despise and mistreat her people. Plus, I wasn't going to leave my dog.
And as for the sex itself - is he really sickened by it? Someone else mentioned that they believed Alistair doesn't truly love the PC when you really dissect his character and that he is indeed attracted to Morrigan. I'm inclined to agree after seeing that smile on his face, then the gentle, intimate one when Morrigan blows out the candle during the deed. I think he's just a foolish boy in love with the idea that someone actually cares about him for once, and he thinks that he should love you, but he doesn't. I don't know...I've just grown tired of Alistair now that I've Anders and Nathaniel. I just prefer them as it turns out.

It is unfair that there is sacrifice. That's life. Life isn't fair. It's not a fairy tale, and Dragon Age hammers that point home repeatedly. You have already been sacrificed to end the Blight. All Grey Wardens have. Your choice is between bad and worse. it's what makes the game so compelling, imo. If I want happy happy joy joy love without any lasting ramifications, I'll go read a romance novel. I still think it is horribly wrong to punish someone for doing something you want them to do and have to convince them to do.
Get the toolset and read the VO directions. He *does not* want to do it. Not even a little. Let me go wander around in the toolset for awhile and I'll post some quotes.

His situation wasn't about trying to resist Morrigan, it was about trying to suggerate himself into accepting the situation, at least on an animalistic level. In that he apparently succeded, which may seem to indicate that on some level he did in fact find her attractive. Again, that is not the same as assuming he could not resist her.

Funny, there are people who say that he looks disgusted or even scared. And I think EVERY character in that place is wearing the same expression, be it a male PC, Alistair or Loghain. Alistair being attracted to Morrigan is just talk, it's fun, it's something you would tease him with. You are aware that there are playthroughs were Alistair is not in love with anyone?Daneres wrote...

When I truly dissect his character I find a young man in his early twenties who is blown away by the fact someone is in love with him and has to deal with the prospect of ruling a kingdom.
It's alright to not like Alistair. He's just a game character, he'll get over it. But honestly your reasoning is kind of creepy.

I think the ritual crap should have been this: Morrigan approaches *Alistair* about the dark ritual and convinces him to do it herself, and your girl doesn't know anything about it until it's too late. I mean, let's face it, that would be the male thing to do. Hot chic wants to sleep with you behind your girlfriend's back with the promise that she won't know about it until it's too late, and the guy would like "Woo hoo, let's go. Works for me." In real life I would never allow my boyfriend to have sex with another woman without consequences, even if it was to save my life - or so the story claims, I don't believe this entirely, however.
