Another issue is that if the entire enemy force is on point A of the map you should re-position to point B or C etc.. in order to get a better chance to sourvive but people just camp and get stomp'd. Bah...

akimboDEEZ you right! as a vorcha I too rushed ahead with flamer and reegar to strip shields but I had number of groups which got killed and they never learned to RUN AWAY from the Scion cluster 'nades.

You do realize that the collectors have "swarms" for a reason, right? They will swarm you from 2-3 different spawns if you stay in the same place as that is their combat style.

Better that than a wipe on wave 2 or 3.

Staying in a group does not equal camping. You can move as a group you know?

The real problem is people trying to play like they did before the patch and DLC. All the enemies are tougher and using new strategies. Ive gone back to using my Destroyer till I get a handle on their playbook.

that was my point! the collectors have their own style of rushing and swarming and 1-shot kill stuff just by looking at you. people can't just camp and use sniper crap with them they need to move as a group and help each other out of the stun-lock and quick revive before the ninja execution.
I had a match now which I finnaly found a team that managed to reach wave 11... Lone survivor. Truly it was sad when the wasted their missiles on scions at wave 4 :X as a justicar with reave and DPS bubble I took them out pretty quick.
then on wave 11 they camped on the LZ instead of the other side of the map so the mobs will got to the other direction and it did take some OPS pack and medigel there to stay alive at the end with the praetorians and scion party... FB Reactor btw on silver.
EDIT:
And why in god's name the collector look at me and I'm dead? it's so fast you can't even hear them shoot! most of the time you can't even shoot from cover or something.

It also sucks when the whole PUG (except for me) is out of medigel by deployment on the LZ.

I totally haven't figured out how to play the collectors yet, but I was in a PUG last night and the most success we had was definitely staying in a group and staying on the move. We were in Vancouver and backing away from them in a counter-clockwise circle. It kept things more under control and kept the Collectors far away.
This would happen more often if people used mics. I am also guilty of this, not having a mic I mean.

I'll help them if I can, though.

But there are plenty of situations where staying with your team is the worst thing you can do.
I think it's more situational and it's more a case of playing sensibly and not abandoning team mates (by that i mean being willing to come back and help) rather than Ramboing and ignoring what's happening with the rest of the team.

Favorite part about this is people in pugs are so stupid that they refuse to use theirs and when you stop using yours because you ran out for that match/gave up on them you get kicked for not using yours. This community is so dumb sometimes .....Googleness wrote...

Yes, it was one of those rare pugs where all of us were chatting on mics.
For those complaining about full-team wipes, I bet the medigel transmitter would be very helpful against Collectors right now while everyone's rag-dolling through their learning period.

Wave 10, they are both dead half way through the 1-4 enable objective. The other Turian and I complete it, but he dies in a mob, with no chance of me reviving him (two Scions, plus a Praetorian and the usual group of tag-along mooks, he might have been executed, but I was busy, so can't say for sure). I go into solo mode, whittle down the mooks and Scions, while staying away from the Praetorian.
Finally gets down to killing the Praetorian (plus one mook I couldn't find, but didn't want to let ambush me). I take small bits, hit, run, hit run. Then, one of my teammates comes up over mic telling me to hurry up. Pretty sure it was one of the Krogans. In any case, killed the Praetorian, found the last mook, killed it, on to wave 11. Where one of the two Krogans promptly got killed and I foolishly tried to revive him. Good news is the other Turian revived me and we got away with full extraction.
As far as I could tell, learning did not take place during that match (including me trying to foolishly revive someone I should have let go).

Really? People do this?! I'd be all like, "Aren't you dead? The dead don't talk."
Well, I might sprinkle it with some flavor words...
