I thought the DAO Sacred Urn dragon was a harder fight, but they were both tough and certainly looked like dragons. "Dragon Age" is a time period, not a declaration on the abundance of dragons (since, you know, they're pretty rare).

The DA2 dragon fight could have been better designed. It was too easy to dodge it's attacks.

The bit where it sat on the hill shooting fire while the drakelings attacked was more challenging, but that seems the wrong way around.

Statically they look the same to me. Animation wise, it seemed like DA2 had far fewer frames of animation. The DA2 dragons (and everything else) seemed like they had maybe half the number of actual frame animations for things like moving and attacking than DAO did. Maybe I imagined it, but that seems like a weird thing to imagine. Everything in that game had a herky jerky teleporty look to everything they did. Maybe that's where the anime comparison comes in, as that's my impression of low budget anime as well.

It's called "Dragon Age", not "An Age With Dragons"(Even though it's the reason why lore wise it's called Dragon Age)

Can you elaborate?

Dragon companion?

Dragon armor?

Dragon food?

Wah?

I wouldn't mind seeing a hatchling as a companion. Ridiculous as it might sound, if we can't have Dog back, then give me a baby dragon.  Could you imagine a cute little dragon going around struggling to flap his wings or when he coughs a small fireball comes out of his mouth? Imagine the people who would underestimate him...

That sounds adorable!  I want this now, please Bioware?

Back on topic, yeah its the same dragon.  Both were challenging fights so I'm not sure what OP is asking for.  Unless you want a dragon fight like the final boss in Dragon's Dogma.  In that case yes I agree, I want that too.

I think they should change up the design of the dragons a little, Dragon to Dragon - make each one stand out and have some lore and history behind them - since there meant to be so rare and special.

I think the idea that a fantasy world would include an omen (the lore reason it's called the Dragon Age) without any actual significance would be a little silly.

Oh look, more of that BSN japanese hate that I mentioned in the other thread.

You Sir are acting like a fool, I never once said I hated Japanese culture, I have no problem with Japanese Art, as long as it not done by western people, I'm totally fine with it, some of it is quite beautiful.

Love me some Shogun 2: Total War, love me Bushido and Shinto and especially love me some Sushi - wouldn't watch Anime or play JRPGs with someone else's eyes.

This claim is as ridiculous as the dragon claim being made.

@epicboot2daface: Is that a Skyrim dragon? While visually stunning... I two shot those dragons in my sleep - there's a point where that game becomes ludicrously simple.

Yep, also Studio Ghibli ftw, also I hate Final Fantasy XIII with a passion, but I will never deny it is a beautiful looking game.

When you get over level 30 I think, Skyrim is a piece of ******, but it is a nice looking game.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is American made by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. The followup to the series is Legend of Korra both American made not by Studio Ghibli but by Nickelodeon Animation Studio (also an American company).

Regarding the Japanese debate, I think people are missing the point. I think what certain people are trying to say (even though I don't completely agree with them) is that they have no problem with Japanese styles, but they dislike it when those styles are included in distinctly western franchises.

It's. The. Same. Dragon.

I think you're trolling, DinoSteve. And doing a good job of it too, because I now have the overwhelming urge to bash your head in with my monitor.

I get the urge to go on a genocidal rampage every 3 posts I read on BSN.

@EpicBoot2DaFace: Yes - but it wasn't the only point being made in this thread. The dragons in Skyrim are such wusses.

At the beginning they're cool fun - but they needed to be fun throughout.

I know Nickelodeon makes Avatar, but you only asked have I seen it,(I never thought Studio Ghibli, made it. I was just giving example of Japanese art I like) and yes it looks good, but it is the exception to the rule, in most cases when western animators try to animate in Japanese style they fail miserably.

Me trolling, I'd never do that, but I agree they are the same Dragon only DA2 is the ****ter Anime version of DAO's dragon.

At what university did you earn your study of Dragons degree?

In all seriousness though I never gave a crap what they look like, my only complaint was that DA2's Dragon is ****** easy to beat, I only tacked that art bit on at the end to wind up that guy who was calling other people racist in another thread for not liking Anime Art.
