I tried looking for the answer, but couldn't find it:
Can we create groups that have nothing at all to do with games or gaming? Is this frowned upon or is it encouraged?
Also, I've noticed that 'Discussions' in groups aren't quite like forums. For example, looks like they are missing page number links. I think groups have tremendous potential, but BioWare should work on them some more.
Also also, I would like to have a 'My topics' type thing for discussions on the forums as well as within groups that I am a member of. That would be really great.
Thanks

I doubt that there are any restrictions on the nature of groups. Consider how the OTE has happily flourished without interference from website devs. Also, imagine not being able to talk about simple non-gaming-related things like your home repairs or kids or the weather in blog posts or status updates. That would be a travesty, no?
Page number links have been conspicuously missing for some time. Somehow I don't think that's high on the web devs' list at the moment, though. Maybe they just didn't anticipate that group discussion topics would function on the same or higher level of popularity with forum discussion threads.
For your last suggestion, you might want to take it to the Social.Bioware. Help section.
