Also: Has any reason been given for their design change?

Because they would have whupped us silly if they were the same as the ME2 ones?

Edit: Ah visual design. I dunno.

I would, but whenever i see one, its usually facing me down a corridor or surrounded by troopers. No "tactics" can get you past that.

You're wrong. There are plenty of tactics that can deal with that, and they're not even difficult.

More like basic shooter concepts 101

Ok, try and run down a corridor at one while its shooting and spamming grenades at you. Im not a ******, i can play the game. Anyway, as i said in the half of my post that you seemed to have missed, i dont find them very hard to kill from the front

The Dunning–Kruger effect is in effect.

No it isnt, i didnt say im fantastic at the game, and i also said i see no reason to attempt to run past them

Will keep this in mind if I shake my bio-splosion addiction and have to rely on weapons again some time.

Also, getting shot in the sack *should* be a major debuff, I can totally relate. It'd suck.

They were redesigned to have a much more menacing silhouette, that's about all I know. There was a blog post about it, and they were bulked up and overhauled so they would look like as big a threat as they are, to draw your fire naturally towards them.

Yeah, that works, untill they get possessed and start spawning grenades, then hell breaks loose all over again.

Who said anything about running PAST them? Shoot them in the sack, lob a grenade, use an AoE power. STUN the enemy and give yourself room to act. Shooting the sack from the front is easy as getting a headshot. (if not easier)

EDIT: Seriously people, get over yourselves.

Come on now, if they had used the exact same model people would have lambasted them about recycling art. They can't win!

I gave a silly answer to a silly question.

It's only logical for Bioware to adept the model to ME3 standard to let them look much more devious then their ME2 counterparts :)

I would think that the fact that they had a big blue ball sack hanging off their back would be clue enough.

That and the OMGWTFBBQWHERETHEFUARETHESESPACENUKESCOMINGFROM?

They're tanky but not difficult.

I didn't even know they shot beams like primes until a few mins ago...

So slow plus they dont really move that much anyway.
Thanks for the sack info tho. I wonder how it affects the possessed ones

I do hate that they can kill you with three shots, even on bronze.
