Again Ashen, It's not about how we can take em out. You can take em out in myriads of ways.
It's about BAD design. You can't have an enemy spawn on 1 side of the map and close in on you in 5 seconds flat to melee you disregarding cloak or damage taken. Even Banshees stop warping when you get them down to armor. Hunters also slow down when you take out their shields. These Mo-fo's just DON'T STOP. EVER. Literally like Terminators. And they suppose to be human. This is lazy, old trick to keep the player on his toes. But it can and should be done better at this day and age.
We can't have this again.

lol they are fast. but comng from someone who loves CQC i welcome it. i'd rather have a low armor guy rush at me (like a brute or dragoon) then a pahtom across the map sniping me while flipping with a DR so high a claymore to the head doens't kill them (they get 80% DR while dodging) and they block powers. dragoons go down easily. I can see them swarming you being an issue but 1 on 1 give me a dragoon over a pahntom every day. I usually carry a "phantom" weapon when playing Unknown or ceberus just in case. no other enemy makes me carry a special weapon for them
They also invalidate builds that are suited for support and avoiding CQC fight. You can't run away from them (like you can with Brutes or Banshees), they are hard to snipe, they mostly ignore decoys and turrets , they ignore cloak. AND they also have ranged attack.
honestly i rarely do the support thing. I don't coordinate we all kinda play whatever classes and do our own thing (unless were speed running) but i come to do damage or try otu somehting new/funny.
I could see an issue with that though. I'm sure tehy have a weakness for support classes though. It just needs to be found.
Give me a support class to use on them and i'll try it out
Solo. Cerberus. Ranged 1 shot weapon. Sniper, no shotguns.
thats not aclass. your limiting me to a javelin, widow, mantis, or kishock on a solo? i don't think i'm that good lol
Well I did it with a Javelin. I will even let you play a GI. Only Javelin. See how much fun you'll have sniping Cerberus and how much you'll hate the Dragoons.

And if you are soloing golds why are you complaining they are hard? cause they really aren't

This. As I've said elsewhere, it makes me wonder if they're more machine than man. Certainly would explain why they're as silent as a geth pyro.stricko wrote...
Cloaking from cover and doing an objective does not prevent them from zeroing in on you - which can make soloing pretty difficult.

Seriously try goining only sniper on them, try disable 4 devices or kite them away from hack zone or drone. And see how much fun you'll have.
Thay are not hard or challenging, they just make you waste your time.

What's your excuse for only carrying one weapon when we have a working ULM mod for submachine guns, and a pistol that turns any and every character in the game into a master of crowd control? It seems like your problems are largely self imposed.

I initially thought they were robots tbh. I figured they were using some sort of manipulatable plasma. I then shot one in then head with my Paladin's Paladin. Needless to say, the amount of blood present on his dead body was quite the surprise. I personally think that most of Cerberus' most advanced units have some sort of "Seeker vision", but truth be told, I've snuck up on Dragoons while cloaked and coming from the front.Chi_Mangetsu wrote...

The issue here is that I think there are often troops aren't that are hiding who can see you. The Nemesis for one. The only issue I have with Dragoons primarily is that they don't make any sort of noise. I just want noise for cosmetic reasons....to hear them scream when they're killed like the Phantom, so that it feels more rewarding. Yesterday I noticed they don't just spam smash, they're quite smart. This one Dragoon charged me and missed, stopped turned his head and dodge rolled away from my snap freeze and then tried a smash and nearly succeeded. That is something that made me respect this new unit.
On a side note: Your name, I like it.

Going only as a sniper is a legit strategy that many people use. I shoudn't carry and scorpion or an SMG just for some douchebag on aphetamines that zeros straight on me when I'm in cloak. What's the justification of their all knowing ability other than just to ****** you off?

Ah this is what I learned to do on Silver. Now I can kill them on gold as long as I dodge, etc. Previously, I guess I just wasnt ready for them

The idea isn't to carry a sidearm to deal with one specific enemy, it's to be versatile and have the tools at you disposal to deal with all enemy types, and all combat situations at virtually no cost to the player.
There is no excuse not to carry two weapons on every class in the game with the working ULM mod, and a pistol ULM mod. If you were already doing this before Retaliation, the addition of the Dragoon is a non-issue because you were capable of killing every enemy type beforehand, and the Dragoon is basically just a visble Geth Hunter with armor and less stunlock.

And no excuse for seeing you in cloak, no excuse for moving faster than hunters, no excure for their "not give a ****" mentality when EVERYBODY else on Cerberus clearly do care if they live or not.
I'm sorry, but Bioware dropped the ball on this one and went the easy route to ****** off people as fast and as much as possible.

Umm i just had to do 4 devices on ceberus gold by myself last night ironiclly. The video is posted in the forum as well lol.
and why would you not carry a backup weapon? SMG ULM works now. there are really light shotguns like the wraith. there is ULM for pistons and things liek the talon and paladon pack a pnuch. there is the scorpion which staggers eveyrthing. oh and the acolyte which weighs nothing.
If you are gonna solo be prepared for anyhting that can happen

Did you enjoy it? I did enjoy soloing before. Now due to Dragoons being nuisance and pointless to kill it's just boring.

Dragoons on solo 4x objectives are really super annoying, I have to admit I've not figured out how to deal with that yet. So far my strategy is:
Kite all enemies to opposite end of map.
Sprint back to device.
Wait a few seconds for Dragoons to catch back up and kill all at the same time using AoE (not one at a time, or the first one to die will catch up shortly after you kill the last one).
Press spacebar and pray.
Obviously that only works on bigger maps, and not if the device is in the centre or otherwise too close to a spawn.
Turrets sometimes seem to distract them for a few moments but not long enough to complete a device. Also I think I may have actually seen one take cover when faced with my fearsome QFE's sentry turret!
Yeap. Drone escort and hack are also a freaking pain in the ass. You can't get 5 seconds of hacking with them on your behind all the time. Pizza carry too. Dragoons are just annoying period.
Dragoons really have made the wave 3 and 6 objectives for Cerberus very annoying. Yesterday I failed a gold solo attempt on wave 3 when I got four devices and there was simply no way to kite them away... and that was on Reactor... I don't even want to think what it'd be like on Glacier.
I do prefer drone and hack to four devices with Dragoons since at least I can still engage them while doing the objective, but they do make it even more necessary to constantly leave the hack area/drone.
I haven't done pizzas on solo with them yet... not really looking forward to it.
Despite this though, I do like the addition of Dragoons, though I wouldn't oppose a small movement speed nerf (small though, I like that they're fast), and maybe a small weapon damage nerf too.
