I would like a gold statue for my Lathander temple.

I have picked the warrior statue PLC_MC_STATUE7 as I have not used it elsewhere and i can simply overide the .dds in my campaign folder.

I am however rubbish at manipulating the jpeg version of the .dds in gimp.

Does anyone have a gold statue apart for the vanille golden woman or is anyone kind enough to have a go at modifying the .dds file for me. I would be soooo grateful I would name an npc after you and everything.

I understand we are all busy people so if this is not possible do you have any tips for doing this sort of task neatly and moderately quickly? I am artistic but also impatient, the two do not gel so well.

Kind regards and humble thanks in advance,

PJ

There's a gold skin effect in my VFX Statues that you can apply to the regular statue. The statue placeable would have to be non-static and non-environmental though (either check the 'usable' flag, or have both 'usable' and 'static' unchecked).

Not working I'm afraid Dann, I wonder if I am doing something F**kwitted though since none of the fx@s are showing up?

Hi,

I also downloaded these and found they did not work as expected on statues. :(

The gold one looks like bronze and the silver and bronze looked the same.

However, I tried messing around with them and made these changes ....

LATEST VERSION: Corrects bronze and silver according to my wife. (I'm colour blind and had wrong colours.)

Download and add to campaign folder or hak.

Let me know if they work for you.

Cheers,
Lance.

EDIT: By the way, the FXs only show up in game and not in the toolset, so make sure you check them in game and not just in the toolset. That also confused me a bit. And don't forget to make the placeable useable (or at least not static).

Also, my "bronze" version is just Dann's relabelled, but the silver and gold versions use a recoloured texture to bring out a more definite colour.

Hi PJ,

Good to see fix at work. :)

Thanks for helping me out too, as I also wanted to have a way of skinning gold, and if you had not posted, it would probably have been one of those things I never would have done. And thanks to DannJ who supllied the VFXs that spurred me in the correct direction.

Lance.

Hi All,

According to my wife, my colours for the bronze and silver were not correct. (I am colour blind.) So, with her help, I tried changing them to something more akin to the correct colours.

That is indeed better, bronze is a metallic orange-brown.

These are nice and thanks. I liked the old silver as well as it has a verdigris look to it which I could have used for the copper temple area in a previous mod.

Shiny statues would be rare except in a temple or such like so a little debuffing is good.

Thanks for sharing Lance and Dann,

PJ

Hi PJ,

I kept the old silver version as well for the same reasons. :) If you ever want the texture I used, let me know and I will upload it again.

Lance.

Looks good PJ! Though given how Ember feels about shuch things I can't see her being thrilled to see that big shiny statue!

I've never tried my skin effects out on placeables. They look fine on creatures, or VFX models (see below). Perhaps there's something different about creature models?

Hi DannJ,

I know, it was weird when I tried them out for the first time on placeables. Like you, I thought it would work just the same as the creatures, but apparently not.

However, I still owe you a thanks for sharing these skins in the first place, as I was able to alter them to work with the placeables in the end, so thanks! :)

Lance.

It seems that the method I used for tinting the coloured metal skins only works on creature models. Only the FX's normal map comes through for placeable models. If I'd replaced the diffuse texture with the 'yellow' texture it would have worked, but gold is very slightly more orange than pure yellow, and I just *had* to insist on accuracy.

At least the non-metal skins (grey stone, marble, wood, ice) seem to work on any models.
