Either way I have no problems with reloading every once in a while but how long do you think it will take before I smash up my keyboard or something? <_<

There is something wrong here, something that needs to be fixed.

If you are running 1/2 way decent hardware and take the time to configure your computer and run weekly maintenence, then there is NOT a loading time problem. 15-20 seconds (maximum) to load when transitioning from one area to another is very acceptable.
I get tired of hearing people biatch , whine and moan about the game having problems, when in reality the problem is they either refuse to learn how to maintain their computers or they are too lazy to maintain their computers.
A computer is NOT a tv (thank The Goddess). It does require taking out the trash, the occasional tune up, and upgrading hardware at least once during the ownership period is nearly always a game winner.

Amusing, Bioware has even acknowledged the game has a memoryleak.
More amusing still.... if you know what you're doing with a PC, you don't experience problems with loading times. Maybe people who just want to push the "on button" and never do anything else really should buy the consoles.

I think the biggest factor for me is that I'm running the game from an SSD drive. A good SSD drive is incredible.

I'm using an intel core 2 duo 2.3ghz.. 2 gig ram on Win XP... load times have never taken longer than 25 seconds - and most areas load in under 15 seconds.

Wyllowe, dial it back a bit. not every problem with PCs is a PEBKAC error.
I agree not all game problems are a result of the person behind the keyboard being ignorant of how to use their machines. Mechanics always get pissy when they see customers complain about the car not running right and it turns out they never changed the oil, replaced the spark plugs or air filter
...and yes I will comply with your request to "dial it back a bit".

And please, what's with blindly defending the game against any criticism? Helps no one.

Checked the forums and didnt see any posts about this. Loading times? Between 3-5 minutes to load a area? Just going between the floors in near start (trying to avoid spoilers) up to 5 minutes to load such a small area? Is something wrong with this?
Amd Athalon 64 bit. 5000+ 2.6ghz
4 gigs ram
Vista 64 bit
Nvidia 9800 GT powersmart model
New hard drive. Checked for defrag but not needed.
No idea why it takes so long to load. Just wondering if other people are having this issue or not.
Im sitting on a Intel X25-M SSD harddrive (with the game on it), 6GB ram, a intel core i7 and a nvidia gtx275, the
problem with this game for me is that the longer i play, the longer it takes to load areas,
its like there is a buggy diskswap thingy or memory leak or something. Sometimes it even hangs on loading
screens so i have to press esc. to get stuff moving. 5mins to load a random encounter = pretty crappy.
But restarting the game fixes it right up, so the game has problems, might be fixed in 1.02 tho, but was
still there when i playd through the game on v.1.01. But then again, you only need to restart the game so
its not that bad i guess.

What I see is that I start a new character, I play a long time, things are fine... then suddenly I'll go to some area and sit and watch the load screen for a minute or so. And thereafter that's how long it takes. Until I start a new character.
It's good to blame the users or user hardware though. It helps keep Bioware devs free to market new DLC content with ****ing t-shirt companies.

AMD Dual core 2.2ghz
8giggs ddr2 800mhz
XFX 4870 1 gig.
EVEN MORE spoilers
the longer I play the worse it gets, OR if I change areas a bunch it started getting longer and longer each area change.
I have also noticed, the dseeper in the game I get the worse and faster it gets, at the start of the game its not so bad.
memory leak?

the the poster above: yeah you might be right, i didn't notice the load times increasing in the beginning of the game
but it kicked inn pretty hard just before i went to Orzammar the first time. Atleast that is where i really started to notice it.
