is it possible to make an item that has a specific slot on the character (lets say a cloak or a belt) not dissapear when equipting an armor/cloth that uses the same slot?
lets say I have an armor that uses it's cloak slot for a backpack and I wanna add a normal cloak via a cloak item, If I equip the cloak slot on my character, the backpack that was attached to my armor (and did not take away a cloak slot on my character's equipped slots) would disappear. Is there a way for it not to? this would result in alot more options for looks for character.
if not, can I add an item that appears on one slot into an unused slot, like making a cloak appear on the "back hip" armor slot (so I could choose it and the cloak slot would still be visible if used)?
Last question is how can make an item look like a different item? (but still be used as the original) lets say holding a torch but making it look like a staff or a sword (or whatever)..
Combine slots of items and change item's slots

What you can do is this ...
(keep in mind - the CHEAT potential of this method is unlimited, so you'll have to restrain yourself)
Using gff editor etc., set the item's IPActPref to 2.
In the Toolset, you can make an item which is "Active in Repository and Equipped" (or words to that effect.)
These items will grant their effects while sitting unequipped in your backpack (but not in a container, bag of holding for example).

I changed the items to "active at all times" but it didn't show the item on the character, it only gives the items properties. I'm not trying to add more powers but to make the characters look cooler by adding more clothing options, as in seeing a backpack and a cloak at the same time onmy charecter ,for now that's not possible because they both are on the cloak slot and I can only choose one that would appear on my character and can't make them appear together. Im looking for a way to be able to visually see on my character all the items Im using even if they are on the same slot.

havent ever heard of multiple items per slot, but you might want to explore skins - but to be honest, i dont think that idea will work. in short; it cant be done (unless you make a cloak/backpack item that looks like both while offering the properties of both items as 1 actual item) (will require modelling)

What about if I turn the cloak model to a different slot that is not used like back hip or front hip or something... would this require modelling or can I just rename the files somehow and make a cloak model appear in a different slot?

iirc, those aren't equippable slots, even via the equip scripts, they are part of the armor. So that wouldn't work.

Left or right hip then. these are equippable as I see you can equip both. when I choose the armor parts all I want is for a cloak to appear as one of the options on my left or right hip slots... how can I do that?

Read this: Custom Armor/Clothes Appearance (manual how to create)
I suppose you could make your cloak a hip accessory, but you would have to move the origin/attachment point at least, and probably make more adjustments as well. And when you've done all that, you'll have a god-awful unsightly mess because none of the cloaks account for a large mass on the character's back. You're really much better off with adding a cloak of your own to the backpack model that drapes over it properly.
Or possibly just pulling your hipcloak out a bit at the top would work; hmmm.

I still can't get how to mash 2 models into one... I guess it's not just opening the files and copy & past one mdb model to the other... I mean, you still have more files to each model and such...
and about turning a cloak to a hip and then pulling it (what does pulling mean?)- how do I turn the cloak to be visible in the hip slot at all?
