Unable to Connect to Dragon Age Servers

So I recently tried installing DA:O on my laptop (running XP), but I'm having issues logging into the Dragon Age Servers for some reason. I have downloaded all of the DLC that I have available but certain DLC cannot be activated unless I Log In (such as Warden's Keep). I enter my profile name and password correctly and I've even changed it several times in case it was a login issue, but it doesn't tell me that I have an incorrect login. Instead when I click log in I briefly get a flash on the screen which says "Connecting to Dragon Age Servers" and then nothing. It doesn't log me in, and that popup window that says "Connecting" doesn't stay up more than half a second (hardly long enough to read unless you click it multiple times to read what it says). So I'm at a loss. I've changed my firewall settings, stopped my firewall all together and still I have the same issue. I'd like to be able to play the full game with all of my DLC. However, I'm still confused about one other thing: it's been quite some time since I've played the game, do I really need to be logged in to access this DLC? Is there any way around this? The DRM for this seems absurdly restrictive, and I'd like to play the full game and even if I could log in to the servers, there are many times when I use my laptop to play games when I don't have internet access. Does this mean that even if I can log into the game that I'm completely screwed when I don't have internet access? Any help or advice on how to fix this would be appreciated.

Sorry you're having problems. Patch 1.05, as explained in the post pinned towards the top of this forum, eliminates the need to log into the game once the content is authorized. If you cannot log into your account, I suggest you make sure there are no special characters in your password. In other words, it should only contain numbers and letters. If that does not work, then I suggest you contact EA directly at help.ea.com.

Yes, actually I found something mentioned about special characters randomly while looking for solutions. My previous password had a special character in it so I removed that and the password now works fine and I was able to log in. Thanks for the help all the same!
