There should NEVER be more than 2 of these Cerby idiots allowed on the field at any time.  What a bunch of donkey poo bad addition to the game.

Dragoons ARGGGGGHHHH.  I think the terrible Geth are now less annoying even.

Dragoons are indeed a little too "cheap" as per the spawn budget. They're right below Phantoms in intimidation and prowess, and yet they come at you in waves of three or four even on Silver like a bunch of girls going to the bathroom together.

That's the problem - they're way OP.  Phantoms can be dealt with easier than Dragoons actually, Scorpion/Striker/Falcon can easily keep a whole squad of Phantoms at bay.  But not the mass spam of hyper caffienated Dragoons.  And they can stomp too.

Given the loss of shield/healthgate, Bioware needs to totally remove stomping until that is resolved.  As for balance, they say they care about balance?  What balance?  They game is terribly stupid - I'm seeing more people fall to Dragoon squads than Phantoms/Atlas/all the rest of Cerberus combined!

They really screwed up the game balance with Retaliation, in a horrible way.  I don't mind an added challenge, but not these cheap stupid ones they keep adding to the game. :pinched:

Retaliation needs a deep balance hammer.

Be careful for what you ask. Bioware will 'balance' it.

Bah. Biotic explosions are still my favourite for dropping them.

I would still much rather go against Cerberus than the Collectors. I could at least manage against Geth. The collectors just plain suck.

They are the single most obnoxious, game breaking, tactics killing unit in the entire game full of units.

It's like they decided to change fighting Cerberus from a game of 'use clever tactics' to 'use lots of consumables'. Dragoons when spawned in groups of 4 can only really be dealt with by using overwhelming force. Any clever use of game mechanics or cover is completely negated.  And when in groups of four, you cannot dodge them and you cannot run away, so you have to rely on using consumables to take them down.  Not to mention, they really make soloing a major chore (and not in the fun way) by constantly sprinting to the objective you're soloing within seconds.   And when they decide to give you the boot, don't worry, they'll cross the map to where you died within .2 microns.

I really wish these units had never been introduced into the gamescape, as I think they're the worst designed unit currently in existence.

Why must we bring up a guy whose idea of a Menage-a-trois is himself, a girl, and a turd?

I don't mind the new addition but they definitely need a lower budget. Extracting on Silver even is scarier than reapers ever were.

But, would you rather fight four dragoons or a phantom?

Let's get the Starcraft Dragoon AI to replace the ME3 Dragoon AI.

Hilarious results:

The characters I've mostly played with the last few days (Fury & Slayer) really don't have much problem with Dragoons, with both characters I tend to not be in cover and very mobile anyway, but I definitely think there's too many early on in the waves. I've only been playing silver (I'm too scared to climb back in to gold) and I'm amazed how much tougher and how many of these new boss-type units they have spawning in silver matches.

You can stagger them with the Falcon, or stun with Overload. Well, most of the time. If they are going into an animation it won't work.

I mean, I figure it's really, really difficult to get the balance correct the moment a faction has its debut. There will be balancing in the future, and I'm sure things will be made easier to handle. I think that the problem with the dragoons is that they sport armor, not health or shields+health. I rather they sport a shields+health like the centurions do. That would balance them out, imo.

Those dragoons are like Spartans. Power armoured soldiers who can still move quickly around the battlefield and will smash your skull in with ease.
