You have to look past just the skin tone; that last skin tone is more for Drow characters (or the Dragon Age equivalent) than people with dark skin. Use the second to last skin tone and play around with skin complexion (and makeup for women) to get better results.

I think I understand what you're talking about TC. In the the character creator itself, my character has the proper skin complexion but when I upload it to the site, the complexion seems to go automatically to the max setting. Probably an issue occurring while uploading the character.

The last skin tone really is very red, this uses second to last and I think the third to last complexion setting.

Mine always come out purple-ish too, and I'm not sure why. Tweaking things doesn't seem to affect it any. I've tried giving them dark hair..
