EDIT: my contribution. I don't know why, but I keep putting the same noses in all my characters, he doesn't look african.

I don't think you can make a really convincing black female character using the CC as it is, because the noses are too caucasoid, and the only hair option is cornrows. The black hair is also more of a dark grey than a true jet black.

Yeah I'm happy how well they came out.

I'm hoping once the bugs are sorted out with the character creator I can make the actual character file available for others to tweak how they like. I have screen caps of all the slider settings just in case.

Marlo was made on top of Wayne (first attempt), with a different preset. Its just a fluke he turned out resembling 'Lando' a bit, its all good.

I made Gabrielle from a picture of Gabrielle Union, although its hard to tell. Not that it matters I think she turned out beautiful.

It irks me how nice and fleshy you can make the ladies but the guys all have to have shovel jaws. I SO wanted to make Wayne Brady.

When I played around with the CC I accidentally created a DarkElf. Her face is fully tattooed. It may be a bug in the German version of the CC. Unfortunately I cannot repeat it.

I've been trying to re-create my Drow from Neverwinter but the generator doesn't have enough skin tone options for it. I was a little disappointed.

Well the CC surely is favouring Caucasian features but with some amount of patience it can be done quite ok. At least I like to think Barros turned out very well

I only had some difficulties making him look good from the profile but after toying with nose, chin and mouth far more than it would be reasonable I'm quite happy with the result

Very nice, he looks a bit of a world weary assassin or long time campaigner.

Then you get to the voice selection! ARGH. Be honest, after getting him looking just right did any of the voices seem remotely right?

I must say thank you to everyone for posting their pics. Helped me out a great deal because my character beforehand looked pretty horrible. At least now this character looks a bit more like me minus the pointy ears and the lack of elven facial hair. Once more thank you everyone.

I'm quite happy with my avatar. Crunchyinmilk has the right of it, though. The voices just don't match at all. Especially the human ones. None of them have the right tone at all.

some of those are quite good, must have taken a lot of work. i made my character to look like myself though, never really done that in a game before.

Only tried to make a darker character once myself. But i cant say i think they look sunburned in anyway. Atleast not in my eyes.

It's the contrast between the hair and skin. Copper hair + brown face = Odd.
I thought everyone knew black people don't look good with blonde hair. Look at Dennis Rodman, or even Martin Lawrence in Big Momma's House.

Beyonce looks pretty hot to me, so...


To the original poster: if you just simply change the skin tone of your character who has Caucasian facial features to a darker tone, it probably wouldn't look all that good. You need to put some extra working into it.

I found the key to be dark hair.  Like someone said above.
