It's been a memetic joke that women who wear less clothing in RPGs have higher armor ratings.
Kidding aside, I'd like, for once, my male to not be fully clothed 95% of the game (the other 5% consisting of derobing for armor changes or love-making). It sounds "gay", sure, but slightly more revealing outfits would be aesthetically pleasing; I use "aesthetically" because some of you will point out how unrealistic and ineffectual it would be to have less covering. Bah. If I want reality, I step away from the computer.
Anyways, BioWare goes through the trouble of making viable body designs; we might as well see and enjoy them more often.

Please explain what is "gay" about wanting your character to wear less clothing? Is there some measurement based on ratio of articles of attire?

And where does bisexuality factor in any of this? I'm now worried my winter jacket will get me pregnant.

Your winter jacket should be more considerate. Perhaps you should try something from the Fall collection. They are less forward.

I agree. The fall collection is so nice and agreeable, my winter clothes are always giving me the cold shoulder.

BSN people are so sensitive. Jesus.
I'm a male, and by wanting my male character to (perhaps) wear less would be considered, by some immature people, as "gay". That's it; no negative connotation coming from me. Now, focusing back on the topic... <_<

I must be nuts.
Am I misreading my original post? Because I'm pretty sure it says male.
I'd role eyes at myself if I demanded females be less-clothed.

I can only give my default answer here: if a more revealing look fits the character? Sure, why not. As far as player armor go, I prefer the more covered look, but a few more revealing armor can't hurt - as long as it doesn't go into the silly territory, I think.

i think that the armor Rogue!Hawke starts with is nice. It shows a good bit of his legs and arms, but still covers him enough that it keeps a certain armor-y look.

My question did not stem from any realm of sensitivity. I was asking for clarification on your use of the word. If your intent was to poke fun at how the word is used as a pejorative, and you weren't using it as such yourself, that was unclear.

That said, if you want your protagonist to be clad a certain way, or not, that's fine. Most of us have things we would like to see in future games. I know there are some mods out there for DA2 that allow you (if playing on a pc) to have your character shirtless or in armor of a particular style. I would imagine that such mods would be created for the next game as well. I just don't think that a 'shirtless' option will be incorporated into the core game itself.

I demand Gaider and Laidlaw to develop DA3 while naked. And post weekly dev videos about it. While nude.

If youtube bans them just post them on pornhub.

Also, I wish..no, I DEMAND Chris Priestly to attend conventions naked. I'd accept him wearing socks if they have the embrodied logo of Kirkwall in them.

Omg, I never even thought of this. On a more serious note for a moment, how badass would war paint be?

*gasp* I beg your pardon! I certainly do not agree, my good lady!

The less covering = higher armour rule certainly only applies if less armour is sexier when seen from an objectifying gaze. And I dare say g-strings are absolutely dreadful looking. Why, such inferior undergarments could never deserve a high armour or defence value! The fabric simply does not accentuate the fine curvacious form of the female buttocks, you see. Nay, I say we need to add at least a bit more astounding cover to form a classic and proper undergarment such as the traditional thong. Perhaps we could go even farther and make some gracious pants that cover and lift the whole of the behind, lifting it in terrifically perfect manner. For it is true, only the sexiest of women can tank the foul darkspawn from the depths.
