I don't see what the fuss is about. If we get the return of the horrid Tevinter mage outfit and another Isabela-esque character, I think their just as scanty and scantily clad male counterparts should be represented as well. Skimpy armor for all! Or none! Depending on your preference.

People feel that things they don't like have no business existing; they could very well easily ignore it, but the fact that it exists is an insult to their being.

-A theme in societal tolerance; but I digress.

I am personally straight, and I agree with OP, and want more revealing outfits for my men.

Please Bioware, don't listen to them. They know not what they speak of. Just stick with what works.

Maybe we can compromise on a kilt? For some reasons fereldans always felt very scotish to me, probably cause of the ash warriors. Though the scotishest (is that even a word?) person in DAverse was Meril, an elf...

P.S.
going to the top 5 thread, and adding a request for a heavy scotish accent.

Nah, you really don't, I actually know myself a lot better than some people ever will. ;)

My tastes in aesthetics however almost doesn't vary by gender.

Perhaps there could be rogue armours that bare parts of the chest, or are sleeveless tunics (ala some of the dark elf clothes worn by Mezoberranyr drow in RA Salvatore's series).

You could have 'gladiator style' armour for fighters consisting of a huge chest plate and back plate, with the sides of the chest and arms bare. With a muscular fighter type, this could look quite intimidating.

Some more eyecandy:

This kind of armor will be a bit too much for bioware lol:Posted Image

But THIS one actually might be ok! It's classy and not too revealing:Posted Image

Edit: Oh I found more:

And I have to say btw, THIS, was not that bad:

There was nothing like this in DA2 though, sadly.

Wasn't in the game, doesn't count. Which means Bioware don't want the chars to look to gay either.

Well I don't recall there being a lot of revealing armor for either genders in any of the DA games. Though I'm not opposed to the possibility of having revealing and non revealing options for both genders. More options is always better.

What wasn't in the game?

Dude, go fire up your DA:O, it's called "Chasind robes", no modding involved.

Yes, both are correct, there needs to be no "vs".

Here's the thing. Most people want their character to be cool. A character that is pretty, strong, intelligent etc.
The pictures I posted are eye pleasing to me on a purely aesthetics basis, I want my character to be sexy like that.
It's like a kid when he sees superman: "Wow, I want to be strong like that."
I see these pictures and go: "Wow, I want to be beautiful like that."
But we play video games for fun, to sometimes be what we are not in real world, and so I want to be able to roleplay a sexy character.
Doesn't get in the way of me being straight in any way.

"Does compute"?

It makes sense to me that the average straight dude would love to be sexy with a perfectly chiseled body. Why else would comic books stick all the guys in spandex so you can see their 2% body fat, every muscle perfectly formed bodies?

Posted Image

I mean, the artist just drew a naked dude, added boots, underwear, and the cowl, and colored the skin grey.

Muscles in comic books are draw to demonstrate power, not be attratctive (as a general rule, at least).

I'm not sure how many people look at that picture of Batman and think 'oooh, that is sexy.' But I know many people look at a character like Allistair, who is more of a 'pretty' player and does not have super chiseled abs or bulging biceps, and think 'oh, he is hot!'

Just like most people look at professional body builders and don't see sex appeal, I believe most comic book readers see bulging muscles and only see a powerful character. It's hard to believe that 1960's stick-man Batman is actually capable of master-level martial arts, highly effective and dangerous Karpor (sp?) across city rooftops or taking a beating from other super-powered beings.

But I could be totally wrong about that.
