There are many non-mammalian species that are viviparous. So as it has been pointed out, live birth is not always an indicator of breastfeeding. The turian mouth has no indication of being adapted to suckling, so it gets harder to suppose that breastfeeding would be the the likely way that turian young would be fed. Bottom line - it takes more work to excuse and justify the presence of turian breasts than it does to suppose that they wouldn't have them at all. They definitely aren't there because it's logical for them to be there.

What this all boils down to is this was a conscious choice made by the design team. They had an opportunity to round out the turian species with the so-far absent sex. They could've done it in a way that compliments the other sex while staying consistent with the lore and the general characteristics of the race. And, boobs aside, it looks like they did a fair job of that.

But including breasts, whether they're literal mammaries or just curves coded to look that way, when breasts aren't terribly likely for turian kind - that's a choice that shows they're more worried about her appearance as a woman (by human standards) than as a well-concieved alien individual. It's one of a pile of unfortunate choices made in female character design that prioritizes conventional 'womaness' over everything else.

I had no idea there were so many people that would be concerned about this problem. Like I said, hopefully it's just the lighting or textures or some armor plates or something under her robes that just kind of make it look like she has boobs. I also somehow didn't notice the discussion about this earlier... were some threads merged? I'm pretty sure I was reading this thread thoroughly. Whatever, just means I'm late to yet another 'party.'

As for the "ZOMG MAMMARIES" thing, I'd suggest you wait until better images come out of even until you can play the DLC and see what's what for yourself. All we've got as "proof" is artificially lightened screenshots from awkward angles from positions with poor lighting. People are way too eager to flip their sh!t.

I'd usually agree, but the whole Talon merc squad and the sheer activity of the user/character does seem a bit suspect.

You guys just do not get that boobs themselves are not the problem, huh? Like many people have already said, they didn't try to hide how much it looks like boobs, even if they turn out to be grenade holders. It's done on purpose.

My god boobs on the TURIAN is the problem, not boobs period... but even if they're not really boobs they are supposed to look like boobs, that much we can tell, and that is still lame. Why woudl you make a turian look like she has boobs if they don't anyway? Oh right, cause wimminz = boobs

I think you missed the part where I said it' doesn't matter if it's really boobs or not, again. You would NOT be mistaking the male turian clothing for any hint of funny bumps.

I'm assuming that there is a Talon merc squad in the dlc correct? It is also in Fallout 3 and might be a throw back to them.

And I don't think the fact she has a "famous" (I use that term extremely loosely) character that happens to be a female turian with a name that begins with N is Bioware "copying" (Not that they could copy a charater that they own anyway). People have been asking for female turians for ages now, and biotic turians, so as far as I see it, its just that author seeing projecting how she sees her character onto this new female turian

You have to give that artist credit. She seems to have thought it out for a while. Based on the evidence SHE has presented for us, I am also leaning towards the possibility that her OC has influenced Nyreen. The books have also shown the Talons to be more thug-like than a roguish group Nimtai's OC operates, which now parallels what we've seen for the DLC. The biotic+visual appearance is also pretty damning.

Also, @Envy. What the **** bioware. Why do they make it so blatantly humanized for sexual dimorphism? Are they seriously that afraid of negative feedback because it would look to alien? Christ, THESE ARE ALIENS, NOT HUMANS.
