Unfortunately the biggest problem of this digression is that one of its conclusions is that (indirectly) we are to blame for the drop in quality. Why? Maybe because we do not continue to "wait" and "ask" that, at least, that the new games are of the quality that was in previous games, or as close to these as possible.
In time, sorry for wasting you time if you disagree with a lot of my words and opinions.

where did you learn that afterlife was a visitable site again? Could you provide a link?Wolfman 1469 wrote...
Hells yeah! Omega and Afterlife as a visitable site again please. That place was awesome! Hmm, I wonder what Cerberus did to the place. Made it more awesome with the exception of some battle scars?

Like other members of this community, I am a big fan of BioWare's work and I still play Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter nigths (1 and 2), etc.. and just because of my passion and long experience I think that the quality has been lost in these new games pretty fast, so that I wonder if maybe this still a goal?

NWN 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, But the only one to blame is the companies. They are forcing more and more of the game content to the first person shooters styles to attract console gamers. And the traditional RPG is getting killed with every new game!!!

I disagree with that: I a am a console gamer and I prefer RPG than shooter. I think I am not the only one. From my point of view, they want to attract more people that's all and it easier to do that with a shooter than with a RPG. It is understandable since making a AAA game cost a lot of money, so you have to be sure that there will be enough Return on invest. Honestly, I think that ME2 and ME are a good compromise between action game and pure rpg.xraytec wrote...

Ditto. RPG's hold my attention longer than straight up shooters as they rely on giving you better charactisations and give you more stuff other than shooting to sink your teeth into.
Most shooters I've played have cardboard cutout hero's whose names you forget soon after the shooting starts. Shepard is known as s/he has had the benefit of a well crafted RPG orientated action shooter with simarly crafted NPC's to discuss things with.
Other element's of RPG's in today's market? Well I agree they have been battered. Mostly by developers who listen to people saying "We want this and we want that". Reinventing the wheel is a good practice. But I think, at some point. Developers need to look at where they are, look back at where they started. And ask themselves, what was left behind that was good, and how can we bring that back into modern day gaming.
The Final Fantasy series. I loved the world maps. Going from place to place with a massive world you know nothing about and have to explore? Great fun. Espcially when your given an airship. Shame they never incorprated Ace Squadran style controls for it and but enemy fighters in the air. Such a new mechanic would have added to the gaming experience. Instead they simply removed the whole idea of world maps as we knew them back then.
It's a similar problem with ME. They removed driving rather than spend the creative time to redevelop it as an integral part of the game. The assualt on Saren's base began by being dropped in with the Mako and a fight with those massive Geth tanks broke up the ground pounding offering a different style of play that fit with the theme of military intervention.

Also, compare what we get from Bioware's $10- $15 DLCs to what we got out of the $10 Fallout New Vegas DLCs. A Bioware DLC will keep you busy for a few hours. A FO:NV DLC can last you a few days to a week if you are a completionist

obvious to me that they are trying to make up for the "free DLC" by overcharging for this.
MP has micro transactions and requires little effort to make so they can afford to release it as free DLC. SP DLC on the other hand they'll have to pay the VA's for their work (Aria's VA in particuler will be costly).
