Just my general view on this DLC

For starters I had fun running arround around and helping Aria the sexy Biotic Boss :), she is a great ME3 Character who brings out my shepards renagade side whenever we are together!

- New maps, enemys, skills, combo's, weapons & weapon mods too. Im indifferent about the mods atm as ive yet to try them out properly.

The bad....Overpriced!!, maybe a bit too-short, but can be linked to the price issue. Side missions very plain to the point of why bother and easly missed in the darker zones. I definatly did enjoy it overall but i think i should of had an extra couple of hours or a more "epic" boss battle or somthing for the cost of the DLC. Alternatly knock off 400MSP and it becoms a great value fun addition to an amazing game.

would of been a 8/10 if not for the cost / length ratio.
'Drop the price guys to 800msp for the people who havent already bought it' :)

MY final score 6/10 most part because of the cost not the content. Again was fun to play and i can see many additions here that will be implimented to my MP experience too. If you have plenty of coin to spare go for it, if you a bit tight this month with christmas coming up....id hold off.

I loved Nyreen and the new Talons! :o  I'm glad that she's the one who represents turian women rather than... well, someone else I guess. (I like the design for turian women, btw!) I liked that I had someone who agreed with me about Aria's methods and simultaneously also understood that some of Aria's behavior was necessary to keep control. I was sad to see Nyreen go out and would have loved to have spent more time with her, but her devotion to her own cause was evident in her sacrifice. (Her turian family would be proud.) I know that some others thought she was boring or flat, but I thought she was believable and wonderful. Probably because I could identify with her. (Okay I need to stop being a Nyreen fangirl and move on. Nyreen and Bakara are awesome.)

I also really liked the implementation of the first class-determined interrupt! I wasn't an engineer so I didn't experience it, but I have been wondering if Mass Effect would ever nod to whatever the player's class is, and that certainly happened here. I hope you do more of these in upcoming DLC/games. I also liked that there were wide stages in the DLC. When I was exploring, there were areas farther away that weren't there because there was a datapad there, but simply because the room was that big. It made it feel more believable. Speaking of realism, the Talon troops seemed lively, which I liked. I liked that while they were mostly turian, they accepted all species--including krogan. Seeing a turian and krogan in the same faction side by side made me happy.

Okay, that's enough oozing. On to the cons. I'm not entirely sure why this DLC was more expensive. Leviathan was really cool, some of its scenes felt larger than Omega's, but it was less than Omega in price. I think that if something is higher in price it should feel like it's worth more. I'm not sure if Omega felt like it was worth more (at least when I ignore my love for Nyreen). I certainly don't regret buying it the day it came out because I enjoyed it. But the cost vs. worth thing is still in my mind.

Another con is the glitches. They happened so frequently that it didn't feel like it was really polished. It was also shorter than I anticipated. I know I tend to take my sweet time exploring which is why my playthrough took longer than most, but it was still shorter than I expected. My other qualms are more opinion-oriented and small. I also keep changing my mind about how much I liked or disliked them so I probably shouldn't even try to articulate them. (I'm kind of just ranting at this point anyway).

I think overall, while trying to keep down my mushiness over Nyreen, I think Omega is probably a C or a 6.5/10. If we're going by how much I enjoyed it, it would certainly be higher, but I have to take off for the glitches and price! I'm not good at rating things anyway. Thank you for Nyreen! :)

i personally give it a 7/10 and thats just because of a few bugs i encountered i.e i finished all the side quests and the engineer side quest didnt update so i didnt get my acheivement.

im just about to start my 2nd playthrough of it hoping i get it to pop but it could be like the from ashes one 3x i finished that and found all the evidence for the resistance even got the acheivement but the quest is still on the log on both of my games lolz

also this playthrough im going through is renegade all the way so i get to see the different choices :D

I finished Omega dlc yesterday and thought it was great! It was a lot of fun and I loved the interactions between the three leads. Great job with the look of Nyreen. I wonder if the Rampart mechs will be in the mp at some point?

Just finished it and I thought it was fantastic. Loved the settings, the new enemy types and the more personal war story. Learning more about Aria and how she ticks was also a treat and Nyreen is a really cool character. The production values are also really high: voice acting and soundtrack are top-notch and Omega has never looked better. So yeah, I definitely got my 15 Euros worth and I can't wait to play through it again with my other Shepards.

EA employee. look at that perfect punctuation and text-book style of writing, good god even his sig is the same way.

how was the music for omega DLC?

So because I value proper grammar and spelling and give my honest opinion I am automatically an EA employee? What a simple world you must live in, where you can so easily categorize people and dismiss and devaluate their opinions. It must be wonderfully comfortable and unthreatening. A shame that we cannot share opinions here and not immediatly be judged for them.

Its 15 euros? thats alot.

Ooops, my mistake. That's what I paid for the Bioware points, not the actual DLC itself. The price is actually 1200 Bioware points (I still wish they would just get rid of this proprietary payment method), which is 12 Euros if I am not mistaken.

Right, am I the only one who felt that there were real problems with the atmosphere? For much of the time for me Omega was really quite quite, at least in terms of background music. Where was the intensity ramping up? Was this just me? Did I experience a bug? Seriously, some times the only sounds where combat ones.

Finished the DLC. Actually not that bad, though nowhere near LotSB. I think it took me a little over three hours to finish it.

Good sides: great level design, new type of enemies, finally seeing a turian female, few good moments, Omega atmosphere, three ways to shape Aria's character development

Bad sides: glitches during Aria's speech, predictability, Omega not remaining a hub, Aria going back to the Citadel after the DLC, lack of music in some parts

Just finished Omega. In terms of how good it is, let me put it in a list of SP DLC from Best to Worst from the ones I've played:

Lair of the Shadow Broker (ME2)
Omega (ME3)
Overlord* (ME2)
Leviathan* (ME3)

*=tied

Bear in mind that 1) I am a PS3 owner and, as of this writing, Mass Effect 1 has not been released for my system yet. Also, 2) My criteria is based on replay/enjoyment value (read: how many times would I start a new career to play those DLCs) and does, in no way, reflect judgement on the quality of work.

Just beat it... other than the last bit with Aria I didn't enjoy the DLC all that much. Was far too linear and the story behind the whole ordeal was yawn worthy.

Man... what the hell happened to that cutscene when Aria gives her speech. Nyreen and Aria freakin out, flippin around and sliding around the floor. I mean, I know everyone has something negative to say about ME3 these days... whether its the story, gameplay or the infamous ending. None of these things bother me that much, and I actually liked the ending (extended cut) but... this bothers the **** out of me. I don't claim to know how much work when into Omega or even ME3, but how the hell do you mess up a cutscene!? Did they even watch it before they slapped it online for 1200 MS Points... this is not the level of polish I was expecting when I bought it. Looking back... you know that Bioware isn't even going to fix it... ME2 had that messed up cutscene when you meet Anderson and the Council, mind you it wasn't as bad... but they still never did anything about it. Hell there are still tons of bugs in the main game that they don't even give a stink about... No game is without glitches, but give me a break. Bioware please fix your game now... please?

I got an idea for the next DLC, how about... Mass Effect 3: The Polished Edition... Id buy it.

I am with you, I downloaded the DLC last night and have been working through it today.  Not done yet, but really enjoying the story.  I like the extended cut scenes, which I actually missed when they went to doing less of that in ME3.  This is nice.  Couldn't agree with your opinion more, and fyi, I too am NOT a Bioware staff member.  Just someone who loves the ME story an characters.

So I finished omega, not sure why people are saying it’s too short, I think it’s a decent 4 hour long DLC, I played it on hardcore, would’ve liked a bit more though like alwaysImage IPB. Mike Gamble was on gamespot and said it would be like 4 hour long.

I thought the story was ok, its a sidestory afterall, maybe if they would have explained a bit more about how Cerberus got so much power specially if you blew up the collector base maybe that would have helped. The level design is pretty good.

I think Aria had good voice acting (Carrie Anne Moss rules omega Image IPB, LOL) but something maybe more profound regarding her character would have been nice, she’s cool I like her but something is missing, the female turian Nyreen wow, I really liked her character too, I really liked that there was this relationship between Nyreen and Aria…

I liked the new enemies specially the Adjutants they are cool to fight with; I really enjoyed that part of the game in the mine.

I had fun with the DLC Image IPB went to it with an open mind, but I think Leviathans story plot was much better Image IPB.

Ok just did it. On Insane it took me about 4 hours i guess, with searching every corner. That character is adept which means she is new, weapons max level 5.

So what is good.
Aria - damn she is soooo HOT. Shame there is no LI with her. She is woman, she kicks ass, and her biotics is awesome. So to put it simple she is in every way better than Liara.
Stand alone pure combat DLC.
Cut scenes, Aria goes MAD, cute.
Surroundings, Omega feels huge.

What is bad.
Even if Omega feels huge, there is still a lot of CQ battles, there is no locations in ME3 that feels like open battlefield. Only once i had that feelings that i have arrived to battlefield, is when you about to disarm bomb on Tuchanka, that deployment in open area, with explosions everywhere. That was good. Omega is still one huge corridor, shame.
Combat, you know main purpose of robots is to minimize casualties in living force. So when cerberus troops took a first hit, and only after you killed them all robots enter the scene. Stupid really.
Adjutants - those guys are lost their spot. I mean i see no purpose for them, they are like something that is not belong to current situation. Their presence have no purpose, Dragoons whould fit better. So only reason why they are here, it's because Cerberus should be more evil and more fashist than it is. Imho Thorian creepers mutants in some evolved generation would suit better.
Combat difficulty - Insane is like Silver, i mean there is no challenge, at all. Only hard fight is against Atlas after Shep learns about Adjutants. And only because you are flanked with some Cerberus troops. Is it so hard to script a combat that is actually challenging? So for pure combat DLC and combat is not so good at all. No traps, no ambushes that can actually kill you.

Somewhere in between.
Turian Female, ok i can live with her, for some time.
Oleg - this character is... hollow, he feels empty and not fully developed.

Sooo, i say that DLC is worth 1200 points i enjoyed it. Omega DLC is far more superior to Levi.

I thought the last fight was fairly challenging on Insanity, nothing extreme, but still a bit on the hard side! Beat it with an engineer and an adept and died a few times!

I would give it a 6/10 to 7/10 for the same reasons stated above. It was decent DLC, but way overpriced for what we got. It was too short for the price.

i don't know... if you solo Gold or Platinum (or any other difficulty really) and you have to disable target objectives you just follow very standart pattern of behavior. You go to first objective, disable it, luring enemies to that objectives, and dashing to next one leaving mobs behind. If you do that, you have time to operate, and you are relatively secure. So i freed Aria in 1 minute and 4 seconds. After that you just dispatch mobs using Aria as a bait so... it was easy enough.

Loved it!

Thanks.

And I want to commend the level artists for the finer touches. Hope they manage the same with the different engine in the new game.

Dude if you solo Gold you´re a pretty good player overall so obviously the SP is never going to give you much trouble. I dont think they had that kind of player in mind when designing the dlc! I understand what you´re saying but if they create scenarios where even someone who solo´s gold has troubles, BSN would probably be flooded with people screaming how hard the DLC was lol

perhaps. but they could at least make some flanking maneuvers for mobs,or rethink how robots appears on the battlefield. Because as it is now, mobs just keep coming on you in small portions, jumping from somewhere to their doom (singularity).

I fear to think what if i will use my soldier Shep and techburst cerberus with fire even before they land. Or engi Shep. Or any other kit really.

Thing is, that Omega have what you need for tactical combat scripts, there is a lot of cover for mobs, but very few shield generators for example to prevent mass control from players. There is a lot of shooting in this DLC, and also engagements fits very well in your progress through station. But if to think of it, you encounter very few cerberus troops in total, they can't even put a good fight by throwing mass of bodies at you. It looks like Omega was captured by the same numbers of troops that captured Mars Archives.

p.s. speaking about flanking, Bioware did tried to do this in Levi DLC. Two Marauders are trying to flank you, while two ravagers and 4 marauders are pinning you down with husks coming at you.

I thought it was quite good. Would've been much better without the glitches (animations and specially the sound).

Do they ever patch DLC for glitches? Or is this it?
