Dunno. Maybe we'll find out why it's worth the detour.

I forgot about that!

If only the Normandy had some sort of broker... that dealt with information and the shady underbelly of the universe that could set us up with information and illegal mods and weapons...

Oh well. Perhaps Omega will have us meet someone who can give us intel and weapons at cost.

But it's not that important. It's a mined out asteroid. It's a haven of scum and villainy but for six months Cerberus/Reapers have held control of it. Isn't it safe to assume they're all indoctrinated or husk-ified by now?

I think the answer to that is going to be in "if Omega is just a scummy hive, then why would Cerberus be interested in it"? With all the other stuff going on it seems a waste of Cerberus' time to sieze Omega, so hopefully the DLC is going to shed some light on why…

Why would Cerberus be interested in Omega? You mean other than it being one of the largest hives in the galaxy and being extremely close to the Omega-4 relay?

This would be interesting if we saw that Cerberus was using indoctrinated Batarians and Turians or whoever they had captured from Omega as cannon fodder soldiers in the main game.

Actually they should have had those in the main game anyway. Sanctuary took in all species and yet Cerberus Troopers are only human.

Precisely my point. Seeing such a thing would've underscored the value of taking a standardized troop factory out of Cerberus hands. Well, before the ending anyway.

It was explained in the Invasion comics and will most likely receive a more than adequate explanation in the DLC for those not familiar with that story.

She did manage to get three mercenary groups to fight for you in a coordinated effort. It beats them going off in separate directions doing their own thang.

Then why?

I don't read the comics... well other than that first issue that came with my Collector's Edition of ME3. The writing was god-awful in that. Here lemme grab it and write down one of the cringe-worthy lines:

Salarian husk monsters are attacking Omega. One Blue Sun guy screams: "Whose outfit are they with?" To which a random turian answers "I think -- their own!"

...

...

...alien monsters that no one's ever seen before and a merc asks whose outfit they're with? Lemme grab another terrible line:

"I'm doing my job, asari! It's what humanity always has to do -- save the galaxy from the aliens!"

Ugh.

We either go to Omega and find nothing of importance, which makes this DLC superfluous, or...
we go to Omega and find something important, which is pointless because it has no impact on the ending, or...
we go to Omega and find something that has an effect on the ending, in which case Bioware is selling a complete ending to the game in installments.

Saying that though, I was completely disinterested in Leviathan, but Omega has piqued my interest slightly.

I'm with you on these one, will see, if this don't complete the ending nothing will...

Clearly, we're going to have to retake Omega, so we can get to the Omega 4 Relay, because Bioware decided for the new ending, we'd just do the ME2 suicide mission over again. :P

In all seriousness, though, I'm not entirely sure. *shrug* Because it's a place we're familiar with, I guess?

Who cares?  Fifteen bucks for something squashed enough to fit on a cruddy lo-rez Xbox?  To pointlessly fight Cerberus again for what - a hundred GAW points, if we're lucky?  It won't change anything about the endings - which is what everyone wants and will never get, it won't bring back any ME2 squaddies or add to the romances.  A few extra points for the same hated endings, maybe a new gun everyone already has in MP.

But, hey - speculations.

I'm so whelmed.

ME SP is dead, and this is just another overpriced dog-and-pony show.

Isn't this a problem? We've known about the DLC since the Doctors left. And we all suspected it would be DLC since the game shipped without it. And we don't know why we would waste time, resources, and manpower taking back a slum.

And I read the entry on the Mass Effect wiki. They took the station so they could have easy access to the Omega 4 relay and the reaper salvage.

...

...So? 9 out 10 of my Shepards have that base in ruins. Is grabbing some Reaper salvage really going to change the war? We're already stumbling over Reaper salvage any husk, cannibal, mauralder, brute, and all the others killed is Reaper salvage. There's even an N7 mission where we grab Reaper tech Cerberus was studying... nothing comes of it. And the rachni mission where Reaper Tech transforms into credits when you pick it up.

Because I want to that's why.

It's srs business.

SRS. BUSINESS.

But all in all I'm hoping for more back story. This was supposed to be in the original game but it was cut. So we might get some srs stuff.

from ashes, and omega are both on the disc, and can be extracted using a file editor.
both were taken off the disc on purpose to sell at an additional charge later.
