As far as I can remember (and as far as I can possibly logically THINK) owning a paid second-hand game (meaning: some random person gave the game to the local game store that re-sells them *this is my only access to older games and I can get them cheaper at the cost of the boxes feeling really dirty and old and the disc sometimes not working properly*) was not a problem and legal...

Now the only thing I've came across that a second-hand game wouldn't have as opposed to a brand new one is that you can't have Shale immediately and you can't have the dragonblood armor thingie, unless you decide to pay for it with Microsoft Points...

Are there any other known second-hand game issues? Like the decreasing of the validity of the game perhaps? I believe it's only the Shale and the Dragon Blood Armor thing, but I just want to be 100% sure I don't hit the wall somewhere in the future for owning a second-hand game...

Also, PS for my sometimes bad/horrible english, my vocabulary seems to be lacking alot lately :P

You're correct in thinking that a new copy will include 'The Stone Prisoner' dlc and the Blood Dragon armour dlc, and those will be missing from a secondhand copy of the game.

I will add that it is worth having Shale for story reasons (though one particular issue does sort of ruin it at the end though).

As for whether owning secondhand games will be detrimentally effected in the future; your guess is as good as anyone else's.

Alright, thanks :) I was already thinking of getting myself some Microsoft to get Shale and some other DLC's, though I've also been thinking of just buying that Ultimate Edition version for the PC...

I will add that for the Ultimate edition for the console the only thing missing would be the code for the blood dragon armour in Mass Effect 2, all the Dragon Age origins "dlc" is on the second disc
(Though I personally prefer to buy new copies in order to support the developers and because I like the manual in pristine condition)

Ah...manuals....*sniff*

I would suggest getting the Ultimate Edition for the PC myself as it is a fuller experience, and the modding potential is there as well.

Free DLC (Shale, Blood Dragon Armour) might well be included in some pre-owned games. Personally, if I ever trade a game in to a shop and I haven't used a free DLC code, I will leave it in the box. It all depends on whether the previous owner has used it or not.

I bought a pre-owned copy of LA Noire which included a code for free DLC.

Also, the games industry are introducing an 'online pass'.  When you buy a game a code will be included, which allows you to access the game's online features.  If you buy the game second hand and the code has been used, you will have to buy a new code to access the online features.  Some companies have already started doing this.
