if the dlc has more than 5 hours contents, I think the price is legit. But I doubt BioWare will put much effort on it.

I agree that it needs to be lengthy, BUT to me its much more about quality in the vein of ME.  For instance, if its just Shepard shooting Cerberus, who cares...  I'll go buy GOW2 for about the same price.  On the otherhand, if it impacts the story (somehow) or adds to the overall setting of the ME3 universe, I'll be inclined to purchase.  But $15 to shoot more cerberus??  Ehhh

You can't say it's too much until you know how much or what content the DLC includes. So either buy it or wait for a review and shut up. Anything further is just conjecture without any kind of basis.

Everyone: BioWare and EA are FOR PROFIT COMPANIES. The fact that they listened and brought out some free DLC for fans that felt hurt by the endings is both charitable and unusual, BioWare is still my favorite game company (aside from my own of course). They had to pay employees to build that free DLC, they took a loss to make you happier, and for the most part all they get back is a lot of whining. Grow up. I've invested hundreds of hours on the Mass Effect Trilogy and I can honestly say I don't feel ripped off or slighted at all. They've done a hell of a great job through three phenomenal games. So, for that, thank you programmers, artists, testers et al, and to the rest of you: suck it up and pick your controllers back up. Be ye gamers or be ye trolls?

If you think the dlc is free because they are simply being nice your a fool its free because they make FAR more money off microtransactions

Hate to raise this point again but some of the comments here complaining about the price remind me of the complaints early days when 'From the Ashes' was released at the same time as ME3 for an additional cost. People whined like troopers that it should have been free if it was ready at release. Actually it was - if you bought the Collectors Edition.

Why should someone pay extra for the collectors edition to get extra content that you then get for free? Why shouldn't Omega be priced at a level similar to other dlc on the market? Why should any of us get anything free or cheap? If you don't like it don't buy it.

I do sympathize with people who want Omega but can't afford it, but doubtless there will be offers in the weeks & months ahead. It just disturbs me that so many people seem to feel 'entitled' to things free or cheap when so many businesses are trying to keep going in troubled economic times.

You get great value & game hours from ME games, compare to many modern games, hence making the DLC looks expensive.

But 1200 points is roughly the price of a bluray movie, & you get less entertainment time from the money, but I know this isn't the way to compare.

Anyway, I am almost done with the download, see you guys later.

People thought Leviathan was terrible? Despite ME3 being my least favorite game in the series, I think Leviathan is the best ME DLC to date.

I'm of the mind that most DLC is very overpriced now. Leviathan lasted 2-3 hours but cost $10. That doesn't seem like a good value when the game itself was selling for $30-$40 at most places. Now this is $15 and apparently just 2-3.5 hours long and the actual game can be found for less than $25 a lot places. Even if you think it should be weighed against the SRP of $60 you're still playing 1/4 the price of the full game for 1/8 the content.
But I'm not just opposed to ME DLC. I also felt that Dawnguard was very overpriced for what it delivered. And really the only DLCs I've felt were very much worth the cost were LotSB and the Zombie Island DLC for Borderlands. They were fun, offered a new experience and lasted longer than most DLC campaigns. And they were only $10. Games still cost $60, so why do most DLC campaigns cost $15-$20 now?

its a new trend im afraid..a lot of the xbla games that come out now are 1200 pts and a lot of new dlcs are that price too..but just my opinion hardly any are anywhere near worth the price..developers see that ppl are willing to pay it even though the contents not woth it..

I might give that a look given I won't be playing before January. Thanks for the heads-up.

I plan on getting it here in about an hour or so when it comes out. After all, if I spend 15 bucks on a large pizza delivered to my house, eat it in half an hour, and call that worthwhile, how much more so something that will last 6-8 hours, be re-useable at any time without having to re-purchase it, and not give me indigestion? Seems like a good deal to me. ^_^

The same people who said it's 2.5 hours also said they powered through it. It's safe to say it lasts you well over 3 hours if you play it at a normal pace.

Those people said they didn't skip any dialogue, so all they powered through was combat. And most of them did so on Hardcore or Insanity. I would say 3 hours is probably going to be the norm. There's always people who somehow manage to stretch this stuff out("It took me 80 hours to finish ME3, how did you guys do it in 35!?") but those are outliers.

Welcome to our post-Fordist capitalist economic system. Pull up a chair because it's here to stay.

In all fairness however the price of DLC is only going up along with inflation. My bus to uni used to cost £5.00. Two years later, the same bus, the same route, now costs £6.10. It's all relative.

That's not how money works, bro. For inflation to be the reason for the increase in price the American dollar would have had to lose 50% of it's value between LotSB and now. That's obviously not the case. And Borderlands 2 DLC is still just $10 so unless you're arguing that they're losing money on the deal that doesn't make any sense.

I know we Americans are in a recession right now but seriously sweating fifteen bucks? C'mon.

And I'm sure we all could afford paying 65$ for new games without much issue, but it's a trend that gamers generally will lash out against because if they don't, it won't stop there.
