I know there's already a thread about being a Blood Mage, I just want to single out one aspect that I feel really needs to be addressed in DA3.

I would really like to see the player character actually bargain with a demon. It could be a quest. Preferably, a short quest, where the PC promises the demon something - no fetching items or killing enemies. It could have an affect on the player's own game later on. I'm not saying all specialisations should have a quest to earn it - I'm pretty sure there's a thread for that too - I just think we need to see what it means to become a blood mage. With this quest, we could see how blood magic works, and how it connects the blood mages of Thedas to the demons of the Fade. I found the quest: Merrill Friend or Foe to be confusing, because I assumed the demon was inside Merrill, but Marethari merged with it, and apparently it was trapped inside that cave.

This quest would allow us to make up our own minds about blood magic and/or choose how and why our characters chose this path. There are many reasons why the Warden or Hawke might choose to use blood magic: power, sympathy towards demons, to create understanding between demons and mortals, etc.

I prefer long drawn out negotiations, and to write very detailed contracts in all my dealings with demons, so we all can be as clear as possible on the terms...

Hopefully the "contract drafting" skill will make it into Dragon Age 4: Dwarven Senate...

Make a deal with a Demon to become a companion. BSN seems to want everything else, why not that?

Desire Demon: "So you have finally came to make a deal? I have seen your potential even as a child. It was only a matter of time befo...."

Mage Hawke: "Yes, yes. Sorry if i don't have time for your evilly demon monologue, but i would like to get this deal over and done with. To help in negotiations, i'v invited my legal counsel here today."

Desire Demon: ".....what?"

Mage Hawke: "VARRIC!! You can come in now!"

Pacts with Demons, sweet times)
I would like to see a kind of quest like you had in NWN series, where you have to save a man who struck a pact with the devil. You can save him by looking through a bargain text and interrogating the devil, finding one little mistake devil made. That was far more interesting than DA2 battle-battle-battle-get reward with primitive 3 options dialogue "quest".

I did like that option in DAO with Connor and the Desire Demon possessing him- even more so when I found out I could get my Warden to make out with her lol

I loved the fact that with Intimidation you could basically do whatever the hell you wanted to with the Desire Demon in DA:O, but that quest really was very insightful on the nature of Blood Magic and the sacrifices one must do to obtain power.

Until that point Blood Magic is just some kind of religious boogeyman, but when you start bargaining the life of Connor everything becomes quite personal. I loved it and I'd love to see something similar in Dragon Age 3 regarding important classes like Blood Mage.

I want my mage PC to merge with a powerful demon. It is going to open up a new skill tree, and we get new dialogue options with other demons, and can talk in the head sometimes.

-Why none recognize I am possessed by demon?
-Wait so what glowing and your voice changing stuff not normal for all mages?

This could work really well if it were something that happened absent your companions. Let's say your character is asleep and early in game is approached in a dream, you awake unsettled by it and inquire about it to the next chapter. Then further on in the game after you have had the chance to think over your decision and consequences the demon returns to you in your chambers or some sort. This allows you as the main character to literally alter your own game without companion agreeing or disagreeing. But also opens up the possibility of a companion noticing such changes and calling you out on it.

It doesn't have to be part of the main story-could be a found object you attain opening the quest/mini quest. The deal though would need to be pretty sweet; a cursed weapon, a revival skill, possession abilities. (I don't ever use blood magic and this still sounds like an interesting plot.)

I think there should be a quest to get blood magic and perhaps all specs but blood magic is a big deal it should be handled as one. Also I want another spirit companion maybe a girl? And less hatefull then justice. As much as I like him in da2, I almost forgot how much I like him in daa he speaks of beauty in the world, I want another spirit like that. Sorry im done rambling
