Finally we have a glimpse of the player base size thanks to the new N7-HQ statistics. It says on my overview page, that my N7 rating is #6746 globally, and that is top 2%. From this it is easy to estimate, that the total playerbase in the statistics is ~50 x 6746 = 337000.

However, when I look at my challenge ranking it says #3490 and that it is top 9%. From this the calculation of total playerbase would give 38777. So how is that possible ?

Simple, the N7 leaderboard includes everybody who ever promoted from the release of the game, so there were roughly 1/3 of a million total users who player ME3 MP and promoted. On the other hand, the challenge leaderboard only counts those who played since the release of the DLC, so the current active playerbase is ~39K.

So roughly 11% of the total playerbase is still playing actively.

So all info combined:

So the total is still roughly 11% accross all platforms, but the values are higher.

Your numbers are also based on a new feature to retaliation, despite being free not everyone dl's dlc

No you dont have to dl DLC, you are not forced to download DLC. (Cert wouldn't allow it)

Try uninstalling all your DLC and match make, still players playing without the DLC

Bryan, that's not my experience on the PC. Origin will automatically and without asking download and install all DLC available. Period. You can pause the download, but when you restart Origin, the download will restart too.

In my experience it only does that for DLC that you have initiated dl'ing at least once
