I googled it. Apparently the demo ran on Windows 8, so it's safe to assume the main game itself also runs on Windows 8.

Game client crashed twice(on extraction!), and you can't access the overlay from in-game using hotkeys, so make sure you're hosting, because you won't be able to accept an invite.
