Maybe not I the first person who made this Pistol build, but I don't read a long time the BSN so please forgive me. So, in ME1 I jus tried the Infiltrator class. Which itself a powerful combination, but I wanted a quick an deadly pistol too, til my sniper cooldown. I maded this combination which killing the most two legged Geth units around 5-8 shots on Insanity:

HMWP X
- Frictionless Materials X
- Kinetic Coil IX
- Tungsten Rounds VI

I noticed Tungsten Rounds disappear after VI series, but it's the most effective against Geth/synthtetics enemies. Just like the Shredder ammo mod against organic enemy. Mostly simple pirates and Thorian Creepers. Need more power to stop a charging Krogan.

Tungsten (and Shredder) go up to VII I think.
Not entirely sure how useful Kinetic Coil mod is once you level up the pistol enough, but I will take your word for it.

Yes, Tungsten and Shredder go to VII, not VI, though I think it's possible to get rank X via console cheats. Whether they'd be incrementally more powerful versions of VII or just VII stuff labelled as X I'm not sure.

Just in case, it's been missed, pistol plus master marksman has the highest dps in the game. If you're running marksman, you can probably get away with using a scram rail instead of a kinetic coil because of the infiltrator's inherent bonus to pistol heat reduction.

Yes you can use Scram Rail, especially if you have Frictionless Materials in there as well.

The question is if you want more accuracy at max ROF. Under Marksman you don't necessarily need it, but if you are firing the pistol out of Marksman with regularity Kinetic Coil will help land a few more shots at longer range.

To build on the Grey Ranger's post I've actually been doing some Infiltrator weapon testing for my Insanity playthough.

You can get away with two Scram Rail Xs without a heat generating ammo on your pistol as an Infiltrator and you won't overheat for the full duration of Marksman (though it will be close) If you're switching to your pistol while waiting for your sniper rifle to cool off a moderate-heat mod set like this will do more for you than a fire-forever set since you'll be switching back to your sniper anyway.

If you prefer your sniper rifle fulltime a Scram Rail X and Frictionless Materials X can fire forever without a heat generating ammo (Shredder/Tungsten VII)

Couldn't figure out how to multi-quote.

If you're firing your pistol out of Marksman at long range why are you not firing your sniper rifle? Or moving closer? Or hell.. using Marksman again with it's wonderfully short cooldown and sizable duration?

Seems kind of silly to use a weapon mod to help your stability instead of damage when you have three other viable options right there.

There are all sorts of unanswerable mysteries of the universe.

I agree with you, I build my weapons around their "power," so for Marksman on the pistol, for Overkill on the AR, etc.  but early game the cooldown is pretty long and it makes some sense to go accuracy.  Granted, he is listing a high level gun, so it probably isn't early game any more, and that one doesn't need a whole lot of accuracy.

The other issue is that some powers do reduce your accuracy, and although Marksman largely compensates, I suppose some argument could be made for offsetting that loss further.

I based my answer on his mod levels and his statement that he was switching to the pistol during sniper cooldown primarily. I can see your point but even in light of the accuracy decrease from abilities I'd stand by my initial answer.

Sidenote: I actually *like* sniper sway.. to hell with stability <<

Well if you're early in the game you should try and have enough charm/intimidate to get the stinger ii, from Cole. That is far and away the best pistol that early in the game. Especially compared to the Kessler that you start with.
