Revolt DLC: Add More Female Characters :3

Also, ME3 is the first multiplayer I've ever played. I don't play female characters only, but I do feel that its important that there are a lot of them. If the game itself feels equal to all players, then I can love it whole-heartedly without having to close my eyes to parts of it that I don't agree with. It just makes the whole gaming experience so much better.
I would love to see more female characters in MP, especially for the races that we've only seen the male versions of. I know that this is resource heavy, so I'm hoping that it will be developed for SP as well, in order to kill two birds with one stone (no offence meant to any Turians, hehe) and let the SP players get their share of awesome female aliens as well.
I think that what I want to see the most in MP right now is:
Female Drell
Female Salarian
Female Turian
Female Krogan
And yes, I've already heard all the arguments for why some of my wishes are stupid and against the lore etc, so no need to repeat them again. I still want to play as a female Salarian though. I named my SI Sally, and pretend that she's just got a husky voice, but its just not quite the same as having a real female Salarian. ^^;;
Anyways, its encouraging to see that there's so many people on this forum who are passionate about this, and also a lot of you that are supportive even if this isn't your top priority. That really means a lot.

I honestly DGAF what the gender of my MP characters are.Rebel_Raven wrote...

I see rebel raven has a new account.
I don't have a good sense of the metagame mechanics to make a DLC idea.
Also, nice to see the usual replies here from a community that supposedly doesn't care about the gender of the characters they play, and don't care about gender. *Sarcasm*
And people wonder why I'm bitter?
It's nice to see an idea like this, truthfully.

Ironic that the mass effect universe has an entire race that is only female, have most people complained, no? But in a FPS MP game when there are no female Turians it is the end of the world. Nevermind the overt misandry in the SP version of the game. How many people complained about that? Not many. It is a FPS game not a RPG, you have the SP for that (sort of).

No offense meant, but they're kind of poorly designed. The powers lack synergy.

Just because you make an idea, doesn't mean it's a good one.

Actually, the person I was responding to before Stardusk excised it from the quote was a getting a little lengthy was moaning about how people "supposedly" don't care, with the impication being that they actually do.Cyonan wrote...

I was pointing out that I, for one, play the Shadow, Fury, Demolisher, FQE, and FHS frequently.
It's not so much being petty as shaking my head in utter confusion at RebelRaven's ceaseless and ridiculously melodramatic crusading for an all-female DLC.
If it adds new and interesting powers, then by all means, bring it on. Were it to just be a pack of female reskins that add no new stragety or gameplay? Go away.

Optional reskins for all classes would be cool.

Mass Effect is not an FPS. It's an RPG/Shooter hybrid(yes, even the MP is this), and no amount of people calling it a shooter will change that.

You kind of screwed yourself by making the main pull of the thread "add more female characters".
If you really wanted people to discuss the skillsets of your character concepts, you shouldn't have even brought gender up to begin with because it is irrelevant in terms of gameplay mechanics.

I would ask you to clarify in what world Mass Effect is considered a pure shooter but I have the feeling that would just be wasting my time.
Still, feel free to try it.

No, I was amused that you glossed over my point about male Asari and overt misandry. Whether it is an FPS or not, is not germain.

I was going to point out that while the Asari are only female, you'd be forgiven for thinking that the Turians, Vorcha, Drell, Volus, and Batarians have only males since you never actually see a female of any of those species(I hear we'll see a female Turian in Omega DLC, though).
As for "overt misandry in the SP", you're going to have to point that one out.

Codex states vorcha's Earth analogue are planarian worms, which would lead one to believe that they are hermaphroditic. Turian females are mentioned by characters( I still remember that conversation with Garrus), and do we honestly know whether the volus we've met so far are actually male? Not like its really been brought up.

Sorry, we probably should be discussing the details of your original post: I just got sidetracked in defense of the basic premise of the title. To be honest, I'm not an expert on the minutiae of ME3 multiplayer game mechanics that I don't really feel qualified to speak to those issues. Hell, I still don't know how to properly play some of the original characters/classes, let alone all the new ones.
I leave it to others more qualified to discuss how your ideas might impact game mechanics, but from what I read, they sound pretty cool to me.
