Why, because they were boys?

As for the thread, I think turians females should get a helmet because they are ugly as hell, though not as bad as what a batarian female might look like.

Only note for the Turian Soldier is I'd skip Omni-Shield as a power and just go for straight up Shield Mastery (and Turian Female as a passive power? What, they can't be veterans? These are badass fighting women). Gives more room for cool combat powers on the class, and gives her one of the BEST fitness powers in the game.
...I do agree with Cyonan that we already have enough soldiers.. so let's take the slot left open by turning Omni-Shield into Shield Mastery, and give her Warp. This way, she can debuff with Warp, and either duck behind her shield to let the DOT do its work, or use it as a debuff before firing off the Velocity Cannon. This way, we'd have a nice bulky Vanguard who's similar to the N7 Paladin.
Turian Female Infiltrator sounds good. I wouldn't change Snap Freeze any, actually, since it would already pair with Cloak for a huge debuff+damage spike. Would she have the Ghost's version of Tactical Cloak, or the standard version?

If anyone is familiar with the Sonic fanbase, I can back up my claims with the existence of the "original character design" vs. "recolor" debate. Let's say I'm making a Sonic fan-game featuring the loads and loads of characters in the series, as well as some characters of my own creation. Now I'm gonna take Sonic, color him red, and name him Flamer. Does that seem like a valuable use of a spot in the character roster at all? The only way I could possibly justify it, is by making him play COMPLETELY different from Sonic, but I'd still have people saying "I like playing as Flamer because he's unique, but I wish he didn't look so much like Sonic." The only way to really satisfy people is to make him look unique AND play unique, not just one or the other. To further back this claim up, look at the reactions to the Retaliation DLC characters. It doesn't matter that we're finally getting a Drell Infiltrator, because it looks exactly the same as the Drell we already have. I mean, it's not that big of a deal, but I'd prefer he got his own unique armor! ... which is exactly what I'm talking about.
tl;dr: I won't accept simple face-lifts if it gets in the way of unique, ground-breaking content like the Earth DLC or the jetpack Turians. If it doesn't? Fine then, doesn't matter to me any.

If we don't talk about it, then Bioware won't notice it, bluntly. They made that abundantly clear with this DLC.LadyNemsis21 wrote...
There has been like 5 threads like this already...What is wrong with you girls?! Guys already don't take us seriously enough as it is and then you have to come onto the forums whining that we need more female characters. Which I'm all for getting an all female DLC but please ladies, enough is enough...
If we got more women in our DLCs then we wouldn't be talking about it. It's as simple as that.
Well like I said all for it. But if we shove it down everyone's throats its just going to ****** people off and give them reason to make fun of you and any girl gamer who feels the same way.
I know, trust me I do. I get crap from guys on a weekly basis almost. I've also been fortunate enough to have guys friends who don't mock me or tell me I suck when I play with them. But I have to say I do admire you for sticking to your guns despite the crap people are giving you. If I only had that much courage.

Ah yes, Bioware totally didn't give us the baddest chicks ever in the form of Shadow and Fury. I want you to imagine a world where Bioware doesnt give two damns about the main characters of their games being whichever gender you want. Oh snap! I totally forgot about the Demo, who can chuck grenades until her arms are tired. Yes yes, females need more love in this game.
[/quote]
Actually, no.
Where's the smack talking, jolly female Krogan?
The female soldier played by Michelle Rodriguez?
Then there's the curious absence of a woman like Jack from Single Player. A woman that shouts "I'LL KILL YOU ALL!!" then blasts the enemy as opposed to having all the largely prim, proper and professional scripted females.
You remember Jack? The real Fury of Mass Effect?
It would not hurt to have a female that's dedicated to gunslinging as well as anyone else, as opposed to relying more on throwing things at enemies.

Wut.
But aside from that, we definitely could use some more female characters, especially since bioware won't have any excuse for no Female Turians once Omega comes out.

But if did happen.. Female Turians = Moar Turians to play with. I won't say no to more Turians!
