Come one come all Walking Dead fans! The Season 3 premier begins tomorrow, and I figured now would be a special time to begin this thread to discuss the award winning drama series.

Totally forgot about this show, since DISH pulled AMC.

I'll watch it somehow, but I have to say that Season 3 is the make or break for me. Season 1 was alright, but season 2 was a cluster**** of horrible characterization, fluff, and wasted potential.

That said, if they kill off Lori AKA The Worst Female Character EVER IN ANYTHING PERIOD TIMES INFINITY, Then they'll instantly be forgiven for the short comings thus far.

A lot of people wanted to know what happened to the daughter really fast, and I get that. I think Lori is designed to be a character that isn't well liked, since you cant really trust everyone on the show. Everyones sanity is up for grabs.

Alright, granted, but there's a difference between designing a character to be hated and designing a character to be offensively stupid. The most baffling example of Lori being the later would be;

SPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSYOUHAVEBEENWARNED

Lori: Soooo, Shane seems to be getting crazier and more dangerous.

Rick: Yeah I know, it's screwing with my attempts to keep everything stable and under control.

Lori: Well...I don't mean to imply that you should kill him if he gets too far gone...But that's exactly what I'm doing.

Rick: I'll think about it.

***FAST FORWARD TO LAST EPISODE OF THE SEASON***

Lori: So what happened to Shane?

Rick: Well, he went crazy and tried to kill me, so I had to kill him.

Lori: What?! WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU! I'M SO OFFENDED I CAN'T EVEN LOOK YOU IN THE EYE.

Rick:

I didn't actually mind the search for the daughter and how long it took, I mostly enjoyed season 2. We don't get season 3 until Friday night and I'm looking forward to it. But I too pray that they kill Lori off, she was just a terrible character with no redeeming features at all.

***BIG ASSED SEASON 2 SPOILERS BEYOND***

The whole killing Shane thing's been pointed out, but also her heading off to town to bring Rick home and crashing the car, she was reading a map too so she was going to rescue them from somewhere that she didn't even know the direction of. She's a stupid, stupid woman and a terrible character, she actually manages to drag everyone down during a zombie apocalypse with her stupidity, forced drama and pointlessness. The biggest danger to the group isn't zombies, it's Lori and not even because she's well written that way, she just bloody sucks.

Actually, come to think of it, does AMC have a thing for bad/unlikable Female Characters? Because Skylar White from Breaking Bad is ALSO TERRIBLE AND STUPID. And it's not like they're sexist, because most of the women in Mad Men are multilayered and likable...but lately it seems...

She's really good in the series, looking forward to more from her. I haven't read the comics, though I want to.

That really doesn't come up in the comic. Shane is gone almost immediately, without any tense moral struggle for Rick. (Or almost without one.) I think they hung onto him as long as they did in the show because somebody thought he could be edgy and studly, and form one leg of a love triangle with Rick as the "safe" choice.

I'm glad Carl stopped being an idiot. Lori seems to have finally realized that she was a ****** as well.

R.I.P Big Tony.

And **** the Governor.

The Governor is one creepy dude. I really want to see the previous Seasons now, as well as getting the comics and seeing what differences there are between the two.

An apology for what? Season 2 was great.

Extended, multiple-episode, nearly zombie-free sojourn at the farm, which never occurred in the source material, and focused exclusively on personal issues at the expense of larger events? The whole aggravating "missing Sophia" plotline? Several bizarre, shoe-horned-in references to religion? Ham-handed moral struggles over whether or not to kill a gang rapist who knows where they live or abort an embryo they can neither feed nor protect? (Not that "Plan B" is intended to work so late into a pregnancy, there's a very limited window.) Rick and Lori denying Carl the means to protect himself, even a melee weapon, in a world where he might have to fight for his life at any time without them. (Even though in the comic, every member of the group was armed before they first broke Shane's camp, on Rick's orders.)

The way even really central characters, like Tyreese, Andrea and Carl seem to have become ridiculous caricatures of themselves in adaptation? Or, from a purely practical standpoint, that some doofus at network thought they could get by after firing their staff writers and shooting mostly indoor scenes to keep the budget down, on a show that obviously has a fairly large costumes and effects requirement.

I would agree, if he'd take off that stupid hat! Image IPB

I still wish Lori would have died in that car accident last year. What a waste of human flesh.

they should eat them because they're idiots. I'm also glad that dale, I think it was got nomes in season 2 as arguing that a member of a large gang of marauders and rapists should be released because he might not do something was dumb and he was dumb too. I think they were pushing the whole idea of a loss of humanity a bit too far. It got to the point for me where I was thinking "are we still on this? Just shoot him already, then go shoot the marauder"

And Carl was a dumb arse too. Oh look a walker, but I'm not going to tell anyone it's there:?

Am I correct in what I think I saw last season that they showed what looked like flashbacks of Lori and Shane together WAY before the world went to walking hell?

Man, that woman has had no integrity or loyalty from the beginning. Can't stand the hypocrite.

I am surprised though that Andrea didn't get pregnant from Shane like Lori did though.

Along with "Hey let's taunt this walker instead of killing it because I can't possibly get hurt by it!"

I remember that too, though I think it was during the onset of the apocalypse.

I'm starting to dislike Andrea. I like Michonne, she is constantly aware of her surroundings, quiet (i hate talkers) and not too trusting or any strangers.

Andrea on the other hand is already gobbing off and flirting with the governor, what a gullible and naive little ****.

Oh, Andrea. They should have just left you at the CDC.

I didn't mind her in the beginning, but she went off the deep end once her sister Amy died. Now she's barely tolerable in her idiocy.

Michonne is awesome. The Governor will regret taking her Katana. Believe it. Image IPB
