The game is focused solely on storytelling, not weapon variety.

Finished season 2 or episode 2 or whatever. The controls are still horrible, in the end to save myself time I turned on "Detect selectables". Are they gonna fix the controls?

Did you buy the physical copy of the game or the digital version? The physical copies are the ones that have a ton of issues on them and I don't think you can get a patch disk for them. However, the digital download version has been fixed with patches and I haven't had any problems with the controls for this version.

Bought it through steam, all seasons for 9,99. Controls are still awkward, finished season 3.

So much for realism then. I'd imagine with an outbreak like that every survivor would try to arm themselves to the teeth, haven't even come across a gun store yet. Warming up to the girl though, guessing that's what she's there for, protective instinct.

If you think about it, most of the weapons that would have been available were probably scavenged by others during the beginning of the outbreak. Besides, if the main characters were packing a bunch of heat, they would constantly attract all the walkers to their position.

Plus too the game would probably lose its frightening flavor if each of the characters could easily demolish every enemy without worrying about running out of ammo or not dealing enough damage.

Finished the game, as usual crappy downer ending seems to be trend. God forbid a happy ending happens. Bah, at least the girl survived... I think.

You mean "season" 2. And yes, it starts getting bad around the middle.

This is such bullshït. Awesome story, awesome powerful ending.  I find it beyond ridiculous you actually diss pretty much greatest video game story of the decade just because credits roll in without some predictable rainbows and lollipops and LIs and sunsets to tenderly caress your easy- feel-good bone.

I've been biding my time with buying Mass Effect 3. Largely it is due to my hatred of Origin.. but admittedly being vaguely aware there is some massive nerd rage emo storm about ending of the game has played a large part too.  I quite liked the 2 1st games and I'd rather have good taste in mouth  than a bad ending.  Every time I see message like yours, I wonder more and more if the ME bïtcjathon is actually just about Shepard or some dumb LI or them all dying.. rather than, you know, there being some genuinely poorly done ending.

Appologies for OT, nerd rage got ignited and had to burn it's course.

Bad ending..**** sake:l

Oh please, after reading the Other hand, correcting pupil essays (where they're allowed to be creative) and now this, it's pretty obvious that cop out ambigious crappy endings have become the trend. And considering that pupils like to write sad stories too and they're no older than 17, the argument that sad endings are mature and artistic doesn't fly. Hell, Kurosawa the guy that film nerds love so much has directed some of his greatest work with a happy ending. Cause you know, happy endings are part of a good story and makes people feel good. But let me guess he sucks too, cause Rashomon and the Seven Samurai's had a good happy ending, all endings have to heartbreaking depressing emo crap, right? Blargh.

The Walking Dead ending with the main character didn't annoy me, since it was very easy to figure out the plot and you don't need to be a rocket scientist to know what's gonna happen to Lee after part 4 of the game ended. I just hoped that you got to know
Spoiler
but noooo... we're left wit the usual copout ambigious ending". Ah well, at least I didn't pay 24,99 for every episode and only spent 9,99 for all episodes combined.

Overall the game was ok, and certainly not worth the full price considering it's length for each episode. Hell, if I had bought ever episode for 24,99 I would've spent 125 euros, instead I saved 115 euros on a game with out 12 hours gameplay if you combine all the episodes. The controls pretty much made no sense in terms of where you had to click, I try to click on the door handle, nothing. No I have to aim the cursor at the middle of the door. Because of this I couldn't be bothered anymore and turned on "detect selectables" which feels like turning on easy mode. There's no save function other than autosave, so if I had to quit cause something happened (and it did) I have to listen and do everything all over again from the last save, very inconvienent.

I think this game seems to get a lot of pass about the gameplay issues just cause of the story (some of it was pretty predictable), but whatever. I bought it cheap, can't complain.

ehm... 24,99€ is the price for the complete season, each episode was 5€ (or 400 Microsoft Points, so in my case it was actually less than 4€ per episode).

Anyway, I love the ending to The Walking Dead, it totally fits the rest of the story and it's really emotional without trying too hard.

The game is supposed to have a season 2 to carry on the story. So what you saw in episode 5 was definately not the end. Besides, why can't an ending be sad? Plenty of great movies ended on a sad note. Some people actually like the realistic tone of saddening endings just like you enjoy joyous endings. Saying that one mood being present in a ending is not creative because you don't like it is not valid. And I know the other guy attacked you for expecting a happy ending, so he is at fault as well.

Looking at the ending of episode 5, I think the ending was more bittersweet. Sure Lee's death can be considered saddening, but the moment when Clementine saw the shadowy figures on the plains was supposed to create hope in players that things will start going great for her.

Seeing as how the game's story is sill not complete, it wouldn't make sense to start springing all sorts of happy endings on players anyway. It would make more sense to wait until the story's finale to bring forth happy endings. I mean, there isn't much space to add happiness to a world plagued by a zombie apocalypse. If they tried to make the ending completely happy, Telltale might have destroyed the story and ruined the flow of the overall mood. The way I see it, the only happy ending the story will get is when someone finds a way to cure the zombie virus.

Considering the game is being a dick to everyone, for all we know those two characters might be paedophiles. A simple scene of Clementine running into Omid and Christa would've gone a long way to let us know that Lee left her with good people instead of her fending for herself.

I don't think I'm the only person in the world who likes to see a conclusion of a story where at least the good thing happens. But if Clementine is back in the second season (why are we calling games episodes and seasons?) at least we know she made it which would've felt far more satisfying in the game after she whacked Lee.

To repeat before anyone else attacks me, I thought the game was good and I enjoyed it cause it was a different experience. I just don't think the original price was justified and that they should've worked on their controls. They had four games after the first episode after all to fix that.

So if anyone wants to get it, get it when it's on discount on steam and don't expect to play a game, more like an interactive film. The story, while in some areas is easy to predict is pretty good and the characters are solid. They actually feel real, though a bit whiny, would've thought they hardened up more after months and months had passed.

Telltale organizes the game by episodes and seasons. Season 1 contained episodes 1-5, and season 2 will include episode 6-10.

No one is saying that good things shouldn't happen in the endings. They just don't want the dark mood of Walking Dead to be destroyed. If the writers do decide that episodes and the series in general should end on a happy note, they wil have to build towards in in advance by foreshadowing such a mood being present in the later chapters. It would hurt the story if they just forced sunshine down our throats at the last minute after long periods of despair. Considering the seriousness of the story, it should not be a surprise if happy endings are few and far between.

Also, Telltale did not bring closure to episode 5, because they wanted players to be anxious to know what happens next by buying episode 6 once it comes out. We may not know who those two people at the end of episode 5 are, but they still give us hope, which puts the ending more on a bittersweet tone. If the ending had been any happier (ex seeing Christa, Omid, and Clementine together), the episode would probably reveal more than Telltale would want.

I really don't see everyone's problem. Maybe it's because I haven't read the comics so it's good to me but a disappointment to all of you, I don't know... But why are you all complaining so much? You watch all the episodes and get involved with the story, but you turn around and start criticizing it? I'm really not trying to be rude but... it is getting old.

Don't be surprised. There is no compromise between a fan of the original literature to the translated series. Especially since the series has twisted a lot of what's in the comic.

GOT fans are luckier, but no less critical. I haven't read the comics, but I have read A Song of Ice and Fire and other books that have been translated into film, I know the feeling, but I'm a lot more open minded to the approach TV series and films take. But that's just me. I'm weird. I can love something and can still admit to every flaw *cough* Dragon Age 2 *cough.*

I had mixed feelings about Season 3 overall.

I absolutely loved Merle's redeeming act closer to the end but the Governor's arc seems so random. We all know what type of man he is but his unstable attitude seems to be purposeless. Don't even get me started on how Lori's ghost is now Rick's moral compass.

True, I also think what bugged me aside from that was how literally every other episode in the second half was about how RIck and the Governer were doing peace talks, even though we know they won't go anywhere, so basically filler. Adria's arc also went nowhere.

Tyreese and Michonne were the highlights of the season for me, that and Rick's reaction to Lor's death.
I haven't seen a line delivery so unintentionally sarcastic since Mark Wahlberg in The Happening.
