Now that's what I like to see: a great, nail-biting episode that keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to finish. The way the show is meant to be.

And I think I know who's been feeding rats to the walkers. The Governor is coming back as we saw at the very end... or is he? I think he's been there the whole time, stalking the prison and sabotaging it in what little ways he can while he waits for his chance for revenge.

I won't get my hopes up, but this week's episode was a step in the right direction for sure. Let's see if they can keep up the pace.

A good pick. Certainly better than my suspecting the ex-medic with alcohol problems intentionally ruining everyone's thing. I like the guy...

Was I the only one who hoped at least pretty boy Glenn would have been the exception to the rule of main-cast immunity to death by flu? Was somewhat frustrating to watch.

I already said who. :P

The Guv'ner? How's he getting inside? Or did I really not watch properly and it was from the outside? [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/tongue.png[/smilie]

Who's to say he hasn't been inside the prison? If he's been watching Rick and company this entire time, he knows where they enter and exit the gates from by now.

It's also possible he's got an inside man doing some of his dirty work for him. Either way, I think The Governor has been influencing things from behind the scenes in some way or another.

I really thought he was gonna die at the end. Well, it's still a few episodes in. I don't think the crew are going to be plot armoured for long xD

Ermagersh! I was sweating on the edge of my seat the entire episode, screaming GO HELP GLENN HE IS DYING ON DA FLOOR (he's my favorite)!!! I thought he was dead at one point. Very good episode. I like how Rick told the truth about Carol, how he and Carl mowed down a mmini-horde, and how Hershel was with everything. Now I can't decide who my third favorite is. Michonne or Hershel?!

Orson Welles?  :P
Hershel = badass.
He even has his own twitter!  Dealing with social media as well as the zombie apocalypse is pretty much the same thing these days.

The episode did do a fantastic job faking you out on character deaths. I was so nervous that Hershel would bite the dust at some point, but the old man endured. Hell, I was even scared Glenn was gonna die at one point.

One of the most nail-biting TWD episodes I've ever seen. Well played, AMC. Let's keep up the pace and make up for the lackluster first four episodes.

I thought Glenn would bite the dust for sure.

But it was definitely the best episode this season (so far that is.)

yeah the person who fed the walkers did it from inside the fence and if i remember well he/she was using a torchlight so i dont think it was the governor,he might have an agent inside the group who did that for him.

But maybe he personally did other nasty things such as sabotaging the water supplies or luring all those walkers near the prison, there have been hundreds of them so far while their number was much lower last season.

I need to catch up...is S4 as good/as better as any of the other seasons?

The first four episodes were pretty weak, but episode 5 was a hardcore nail-biter with a nice twist ending, and the rest of the season has good potential as a result.

Okay, some thoughts on this episode.

I personally didn't like that the entire episode was given to the Guv'ner, especially since things just started getting interesting back in the prison.

But, it did give us (me) a welcomed break from an all too familiar, and rather mundane setting. The Prison more all about stabilisation, and with most of the plague victims gone, I don't see things becoming exciting any time soon.

I'm also not sure about this new sub-plot. It sounds very interesting on its own, how the Guv'ner is basically finding himself in the "game" again. And seeing the clips from next week's episode, it looks like it'll get exciting.

So there's that, but there's also a lack of focus of what I would call the "OC." Still, it looks like this is before episode 5, so perhaps when the two rivers join it'll get even better.

P.S Despite his crazy-ass mother****ing psychotic ways, the Guv'ner is good with kids xD but next time dude, try not to find the most horrible way of killing Walkers right infront of her >< xD

PP.S That **** never stops finding hot chicks, does he? Jesus Christ, the luck he has sometimes.

I really enjoyed the episode, despite having been wishing they'd just let him disappear for good... Considering the comic, his leaving the story wouldn't have been all that strange. But I liked this twisted game they played. The moment he discarded the soup out the window I thought he was going to kill them. They set up allot of potential for the character too, I think it would be awesome to see a redemption arc. I was worried the Governor coming back would just ruin everything & keep the show from exploring things that would be interesting to me... Because there's allot I'd like to see from the show, this episode raised my hope for them.

*scratches head*

I'm not entirely sure what to think about this. AMC has managed to throw an even bigger curveball with the Governor than they did with Carol. In fact, it's almost as if the characters traded personalities.

Of course the Governor was always a very morally ambiguous character, so his shift back to the light side does not come as a complete shock... unlike with Carol who just kinda turned bad all the sudden.

An interesting turn of events. I'll be interested to see how this plays out.

Also, David Morrissey as Big Boss in a MGS movie. Make it happen, Konami.

I don't think he's doing that. It's the daughter that drives him forward, which is totally within character. The Guv'ner was never "evil." A little psycho, yeah. But so is Rick, they are hardly eachother's antithesis.

He definitely snapped and went total dark side halfway through Season 3... before that he was definitely a cutthroat, but still human. I guess since his fall in Season 3, he has realized where things went wrong and is on a sort of path to redemption.

You're right though that Rick is not dissimilar and has actually gone through a similar character arc... having gone from good to psycho, then good guy again (though he still teeters on the edge a bit). I guess you can "come back" as was asked an episode or two ago (can't remember which one).

It will make for an interesting final showdown between Rick and The Governor if nothing else. It may not be a clear cut case of good vs bad as was expected.

I kept wondering why they devoted an entire episode to the Governor, and now I think I know why.

So Rick could postpone having to tell Daryl about Carol. Image IPB

I was a little puzzled about the episode, but I find myself strangely intrigued. Although seeing the preview for next week's episode has me a little apprehensive. Hooking up with the Gov's old cronies may not be the best thing in the world. I kind of want him to be a 'good' guy, for some odd reason.

Hey, now we have 3 characters with the name Lilly in this franchise.

That sure is something!

This won't end well for him. The Governor is still emotionally unstable. All it will take is his "new daughter" dying to get him crazy again.

I mean these events are all past tense. Last episode he was outside the prison and you can tell he wasn't there to reconcile.

While the episodes have been more intense this season, it seems the storyline is sooo scatter-brained and disjointed. Dramas are supposed to instill...you know...drama. I don't have a clue what's going on this season other than chillin at a prison with a bunch of sick randos....

Who knows, the narrative could merge by the end of the season (unless its split of course).

I didnt mind the governor focussed episode, I like that he is being fleshed out. My partner and I were trying to remember where we knew Lily from, took a visit to IMDB for us to recall that she played Kim Brown in the Unit! Another great show.

Alright, the Governor episode shows that the television series writers aren't all incompetent and this show could still be salvaged.

Hopefully this time they'll ****ing do it and won't spend 5 episodes talking about it.
