I thought it was cool how Carol changed and grow confident .
But the t.v show suffer from being a tv show , for example Andrea in the comics is in a relationship with Dale. That never happened on the screen , and they just got rid of Dale.
Daryl is a fan favorite , so I wonder if they will risk putting him with Carol.
I'm afraid they will sacrifice Carol growth just to keep the cool factor going on with Daryl.
I guess , we'll see .
But I just don't understand the whole point of Carol going M.I.A in the middle of a prison.

I ****ing hate Andrea in the show. To the core. She is my favorite character, along with Carl, from the comics. How did they changed that unbreakable girl into a pushover and a drama queen I do not understand. It irritates me to no end.
Rick and Daryl are close behind in my faves. We will see about Michonne.
Loris death deviates far from the one in the books mind you, and it makes me wonder will they even make the Gouvernor-Prison arc... With things going as they are seems highly unlikely... but maybe. What do you think?
Still, Lori. In the books I was so shocked with her death (and the other person with her) I couldnt turn the page. I was 'eyes-wide-open' staring at the page for minutes.
Tv series went with the torment and sadness route. Completely different I must say - not bad or worse, but different. Comic book ver is better imio. Same with Shane in the comics, his death deviates much in the tv series.
To my mind they beat around the bushes too much, they had to tone it down I think, pressed by the 'politically correct' people. It was clear to me when Dale and Andrea didnt hook up. BTW Andrea was younger in the books. So a young lady having a relationship with a much older guy is a no-no for tv series...
Boy, I hope they wont screw up Carl's 'evolution'. Its going really good now, scenes with his mother and all that, but the fear is they will tone wim down like they did with the rest.
uff, end rant.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An article I read last week seemed to state that is the case. Whether they're right or simply placing what happens in the comics into the show I dunno.
Certainly, it seems likely that Rick's phone call is one of two possibilities:
1) His imagination
2) The friends of the two people he killed back in Season 2.

Like baseball bat meet someone's face?
Haven't read this comic ,I quit reading when something pretty bad happened to carl during a zombie invasion.
I read the wiki to know what's going on , seen the pictures of episode 100.
Decided I was right , nothing good ever happen , it's just an exercise in sadism.
I mean the comic is good ,there's no denying it, but more than 100 issue about human are the real monsters?
I think i got the message.

Everything is so predictable. The characters are so generic, and their actions SO predictable. I don't give two ****s about any of the characters, as they bore the feces out of me. Mearl shooting that guy in the latest episode over a triviality, for example, i saw coming 15 minutes before it happened. I already know exactly what will happen to his character aswell, as this show has proven to have predictable character archetypes again and again.
I knew that Rick was talking to dead people after he told Herschel to leave him alone. 15 minutes after, when it became a "revelation", it seemed so insanely forced that i couldn't help but roll my eyes and sigh.
I don't know why this show has gotten on my nerves so much. I've watched a fair few generic TV series before, but i've never sighed so much as i have with this series. Maybe it's because it is so ridiculously popular because of how "emotional" it's supposed to be; and my inner contrarian amplifies all the problems i see by a significant amount. But i still watch the damned thing. I think i may have some form of pseudo masochism going on.

I ask myself the same question. lol I think there is just so few good action-oriented TV shows. They're too expensive to make apparently, so they'd rather just shovel out more reality shows.Gibb_Shepard wrote...
Man i dislike this show. I still watch it every week, but i really dislike it. Why do i continue to watch it? I have no idea, i think i just have too much time on my hands.
I think what it comes down to for me is that the writers can't do emotional stuff. The setup is fake, the characterization is bad, and so the development seems forced and kind of absurd. My flashpoint was Andrea and the Governor, though. I dislike both of them, watching the highly telegraphed affair happen is torturous. Whenever they die their horrible deaths, it will be a relief. Maybe that's why we're still watching.I don't know why this show has gotten on my nerves so much. It's a marked contrast to the Walking Dead game, where the writing has been handled much better. The TV show seems to have gotten the B team.

I'm just holding on for Andrea to bite it, now. Lori was no loss, and I was hoping for that since the first season. If the writers were expecting tears for that scene, they didn't get them from me (more like whooping and cheering).
I have high hopes for Michonne, but so far, she seems to be a wasted opportunity. Why is she keeping her knowledge of the Governor to herself?

All she does is hate the governor for no apparent reason, and is an established badass without any explanation.
It's even worse in the comics, she's just an angst mary sue and author's pet. Kirkman goes on bull****ting about how "anyone can die" and kills Glenn to prove a point. Garbage, he won't dare touch Michonne at all.

I won't hate the Governor but I certainly will not trust him and will be very cautious of him. In a zombie apocalypse and I bump into what ever that town is called, I would know it would be too good to be true and will most likely just walk the other way.

No, the show is pretty weak. I just read the comics this past summer and its frustrating watching the show since the comics have some great characters that the TV show does nothing with. Andrea is awesome in the comic. She's probably one of my favorite characters. Yet I cannot stand her and so desperately want her dead on the show. TV Andrea is literally nothing like her comic counterpart.
While I think Season 3 has been better than last year, it still has some really stodgy writing at times and some equally awful acting. I'm sorry but the Carl kid cannot act. I've just cringed just about every time he's opened his mouth this season. It really makes you appreciate a show like Game of Thrones where despite whatever misgiving you may have with the adaptation of the show, they have good actors and good child actors too.
The Prison arc is without a doubt the best part of the comic, so I really hope the show can get its act together. But the comic and show are so radically different at this point I don't know what'll happen.

Yup, I think its equal parts bad writing and bad acting. I don't mind the TV Governor compared to the comic version, who is far more in your face psychopathic and sadistic, but again, Andrea screws everything up. Its just a boring plot thread on the show and I wish they'd either just kill her off or do something to make her the awesome, likeable badass she is in the comic.

The governor seems like a very charming man who keeps his inner devils locked away
As opposed to the comics where he's an insane psychopath
he's much more of a believable human in the tv show.

Andrea is bad, and the Governor is just disappointing. They keep trying to make him deep and it's just a mess. Is he a pragmatic survivor, a functional sociopath, what...? By this time, I don't care. Just kill him off already. I'm sure at some point Andrea will off him in a tearful "I let myself trust you and now woe is me" pile of melodrama.hangmans tree wrote...

Michonne... I wanted to like her character. How can you not like a black woman with a sword. But she's just Scowly McGrumpypants. I dunno, she could still be redeemed, and she's probably the only hope for this season.

Yeah... if they follow how she even sort of is in the comics, she should open up a bit more now that she's with Rick and company and become a little more like an actual character other than a scowling version of Daleface.
