Was FBWGG farming really that big a problem?

I hated it. New changes are great.

Any Location / Unknown / Firebase etc.
Any Enemy / Unknown / etc.
When not with friends, I used quick matching, and I'd have to go through several Geth/White lobbies and exiting out of them to try again, which takes over 10 seconds to transition back, so it was very annoying. I found after the changes, quick matching has been great at not drawing Geth/White on gold.
I don't know if it's the novelty of it, but I feel Firebase White had been vastly improved with their new renovations, much more spacious now! Can't hurt the resale value. =)
Having these games exist was a problem for me personally because I can't host games without causing some psychedelic lag for everyone else other than me, so I couldn't create lobbies for Unknown/Unknown. I have to rely on friends with good connections to do that. But now quick matching has improved.
This may also be due to there being an XP% increase incentive for people looking to unlock point-based challenges by playing Unknown/Unknown or Hazard/Unknown.

And I will help them of course, when we cross paths. I started out with White, got my GPS to X and actually had a chance at real Gold matches back when I wasn't half as good as I am now.
It's just that punishing people for adapting to a retarded store is a bad idea for me. Either change the store --which is possibly the no.1 thing the fanbase has been asking for a while now-- or do nothing. I'm all for fixing exploits, of course, and adjusting the geth grab mechanic was a good move far as I'm concerned. But everything else, really now?

And yes, it was a problem for me, because it was really time consuming trying to find a Gold lobby that wasn't FBWGG. Now, I don't have that problem. Although I just joined a FBWGG in progress, and the match was genuinely fun because it wasn't a boring old camp-fest. We still survived

Farming FBWGG wasn't really much of a play style, unless you're really into repetition. If you really feel like you need to farm on Gold to get enough credits, but you can't handle speed runs, that's a very very good argument for improving the credit rewards on Silver, not for enabling easy camping.
Besides, if you really wanna play FBWGG, you could always uninstall Retaliation and set up a private lobby! It's a win-win. You get to farm the game from behind those counters for half an hour, and I don't have to find you when searching for a quick match. It's not like any of the retaliation content helps much with FBWGG.

Although admittedly the death of FBWGG farming has made me take tentative steps into Gold, I still mostly play silver, but I play gold occasionally now and I find myself doing moderately well. Not exactly topping the scoreboard or being the destroyer of worlds, but not bad.

Good call, after 7 months, it's time to camp somewhere else!
Also, love the new firebase white layout.

I would have been perfectly fine with only the map being changed. But the map ontop of the Bombers, Pyro's not being grabbable, and various other buffs the geth got was WAY too much of a response.
I love the new map, but if we fix the problem with a map change, it doesn't need to be fixed 3 or 4 other ways.
EDIT; I play Silver and I used FBWGG to get some more credits so I can get good gear and not waste my life playing MP. Dropping down a level won't help in my case, and I'm sure many others are in the same boat as me.

Over 30% of the games were Firebase White according to a random stats of interest image they made.
Which, of course included Cerberus & Reapers and private W/G/G matches.
Edit: And wasn't it 28%?

The fix to pyro units makes sense they are armor.

That was a week after the camping stratagy was formulated.
The data had LONG outdated itself by now.

Geth Pryos are too dumb not to be grabble, it used to be so much fun racking up melee kill just baiting them near. I don't like this change much either. It's like that time when they took away headshot for bosses, it's just not as good without then with. I don't think I'll ever come to like it.
But I'm fine with the Geth bomber, anything for a new enemy, even if it is a tiny one. It only drop bombs on a straight line and with low radius of effect. Just side step and you'll be fine.
Scions on the other hands...

Farming will be back. Not speedruns, just plain old farming. It may not involve camping or minor exploits, and it may not be as spread as White was. But with the store always there, same and old for everyone, especially newcomers, people will keep trying to find the most efficient and care-free way to get credits to buy their level IV ammo.
And I will help them of course, when we cross paths. I started out with White, got my GPS to X and actually had a chance at real Gold matches back when I wasn't half as good as I am now.

Seconded. It also helps with leveling since a lot of the classes aren't worth crap (H.Adepts anyone? Ugh...) until they hit at least level 15, which can get pretty tedious if you're just playing randoms on Bronze.
And the main problem with the store is the store is that, as an editor on The Escapist put it, it's too much like a CCG (i.e. Magic, Duel Masters, or Yu-Gi-Oh!) in regards to the unlocks. Sure, you can "game the system" through strategic deletions (otherwise I may have never gotten my beloved girls: the Fury, Shadow, and Demolisher), but due to the "random" factor, there's a chance you could have played the game since launch and not unlock a specific item.
Like the lady/gentlemen above me implied, you can't stop farmers (figuratively and literally, heh). You can maybe slow them down, much like what's happening now, but you can never get rid of them, not unless there was a mechanic to completely randomize the map itself and not just the location.
And with sword or grenade in hand, I will greet these farmers with open arms, and we all shall bathe in riches and XP together.
Besides, unless the people you were with somehow knew what the geth were doing before they did, White/Geth/Gold was still a hefty challenge, especially if you ever had that one Hunter, Pyro, or Prime who somehow managed to take the back entrance instead of the front or side. >__<
Addendum: Oh, and F@#k Collectors, with a capital F. F@#k them right in the face.

Why is camping an issue if that's what players choose to do? You know camping goes on on every map, don't you? Hell, even I do it. When things start getting out of hand on Giant we go inside the building, two on the higher level and two on the lower level. The smart players "camp" on either side of Rio and let the enemies spawn on the opposite end.
