Good one... Only I am not really mad... I've filled out most of my manifest... I just have found the changes to be uneccessary and frankly uncalled for... However if BW was trying to increase MS point sales though the RNG... Well, I don't think we the people who ultimately pay for the content will ever get the full answer...
I was siding with you, to be honest that was meant for the other guy,
Was FBWGG farming really that big a problem?

The game isn't about camping. I understand the need for better equipment, but it's a lot more fun to earn it as you actually play the game, not earn it as you sit playing the same map over and over and sit in the same spot for hours just shooting.

From my perspective, this was a poor move.
I would REALLY like to see the money be boosted in Bronze and Silver so people can catch up on their characters and weapons, those who started late.

I would like to retort with what is the purpose of gaming in general. Obviously, from a philisophical standpoint, our obsession with the gaming industry no doubt goes toward our need to escape from the real world. The real world having greivances raning from minor annoyance to heart shattering emotions. We seek entertainment to keep our hands or mind busy while we think things over or just escape from it all entirely. We call this "having fun".
The real question is now did Bioware take away the "fun" from the game with the changes or should we just replace "taking the fun away" with "making it more of a challenge" and call it a day?

I'm not usually one to give Bioware praise, but I think it's fantastic what they've done to that map. How people ever sat in those lobbies and didn't feel embarrassed is beyond me, but it was ridiculous how rampant FBW/G/G got.
It really wasnt that bad

I believe any time a punitive measure is put in place by shear definition it becomes less fun... I just find the game an aweful grind now... I mean I have played my share of 14 -16 minute speed runs and for me that is worse than 23 minutes of camping any day. So you replace camping with speed runs and that makes the game more enjoyable for whom exactly?

My question is this, for traditional sniper or demolisher players what exactly is there for us to do?
Mobile grenade users like soldiers are worth more than a demolisher now.
Shotgun infiltrators handle things better than a sniper who sits and snipes.
Sit at the bottom of the ladder at the corner just beyond the low cover. I've been doing that since day one. Covers the lower part of the level and the landing pad.
I find it funny that a large number of people came out of the woodwork to whine & moan about how Infiltrators were the majority of players on Gold, and that was backed up with evidence by Bioware. So now when Bioware shows how a single map is played more often than all others (~30%) and decides to tweak it so it's less desirable (no longer an "I WIN" scenario), that's then being jerks?

I like the changes actually - but the campers you displaced are now messing up games on other maps because these folks aren't quite capable of the different playstyle without the camping comforts FBW provided them.
Translation - you made my Gold PUG games on other maps a bit of a living hell with all these inexperienced campers joining them now.

Yes, it was a problem. A big one if you ask me. FBW/G/G matches were no less than half of what I got trying to get a PUG to play on gold before the patch. Oh and we got an awesome map out of the deal. Sorry to the farmers and occasionally lazy players looking for a payday. I guess you guys will just have to find another way to camp or wait until someone else does.
I guess most people that posts here had increadibly bad luck(as in: it is hard to believe),bad connections, laggy connections and/or no friends lists on xbox... Maybe it's the PC or PS3 version players... I never had a problem. I guess "awesome map" is in the eye of the beholder... But then again so is this whole "Campers/Farmers vs Rambo/Speed Runners" meme...

Forgot about those stats. And it was what 30% oout of six classes WHILE the vanguards were glitched pretty badly? And yet 28% of the matches take place on White out of how many maps? 12 or so? Yet, that perfectly fine with the community.

Those people coming out of the wood work are the folks who have something to say that may not be what anyone wants to hear but I think if you do a break down of the demographics, it may just be the silent majority, if you will ( I shudder to use anything Jerry Fallwell said... Don't judge me by that
Okay so let me break it down a little further... BW fixes the Banshee teleport bug, so now camping for FBWGP requires a lot more coordination during the Banshee and Prime waves. BW Buffs Pyros, so no more counter grabs, Kill stomp enables just about everyone. Prime turrets now bang you as well. Rocket Troopers can fire a rocket at you when they are facing 180 degrees from you and they have super kinetic abilities that allow them to accurately bring fire on you while supended in mid air. Stunlocks, need I say more on stunlocks? That was all before the DLC. Now we have Bombers as well...
Okay I don't want to put up a wall of text... So I won't go into the Collectors, and the Cerebus buffs as well... But on the whole I think, the game has definitely shifted into a run and gun shooter experience a lot like HALO.

I got my stuff from playing a ton of silver normal games, then moved to gold. The only times i've farmed is when I couldn't find anything except FBWGG!!

No other map gave you 75% immunity to enemies and 100% immunity from being flanked. THAT is the problem that White had. Farming was side-effect of that. Camping, in general, is fine. The problem is being able to camp in one spot, for the whole match, with practically zero threat/risk.
Even with Bombers and Pyros (granted they cheat and flame you through/over cover), you still had pretty much no risk to worry about. Bombers can be taken down easily with random gunfire/combos. Considering all the Geth would be entering through one of two entrances, both of which wind up combining into the same area, combos are going to be a given.
And you need to stop focusing strictly on Platinum, because these problems existed long before that was introduced.
As for the part I underlined, none of that mattered when you camped on White.

I'm lazy when I play the game so I don't have to be lazy in the real world (and actually have a real payday with real money) and devote my time to the game just so I can get halfway decent stuff. Sorry. I have more important things to do than spend all day playing a game. I want to get in, grind out a few games in the time I have and get the maximum amount of credits out of it. Farming was the most efficient (forget easy, it was efficient) way to do so.SquintSky12 wrote...

Yeah, we'll probably find a way to make it efficient again, and the vicious cycle will continue.

It is. If geth could walk faster no one would have an issue with it.
