Yep this.

Whether I liked the characters or not, they were still involved with the Warden/Hawke during the games events. All my companions were part of a dysfunctional family setting; maybe they annoyed me but I still want to check up on them, as much as they'll inevitably pee me off.

Also, I hope Bioware will take note of LIs and at least mention that. I know this is perhaps more appropriate for another thread and yes, I know it's Bioware's game, but they were also a companion.

If I don't like a character, I just act like a dick to them and rush through their quest. Not going to demand a character is cut from a game because of my personal dislike of them <3

Sebastian definately, especially since .. Mary Kirby I think it was, promised there would be more coming for his story and backgorund.

I totally agree with your post. The more the better. It's will give the game a huge replay value.

Personally DLC should be made to be attractive to as many people as possible and not use characters that might make people not want to buy them.  My Warden made the ultimate sacrifice for everyone and if they introduce another character to use instead of them I think it would be betraying what my character did.  Its why I was so annoyed with Awakenings for my Warden was dead, but never mind that here is another Warden that you can use because yours is dead just didn't sit right with me.

Its probably why we don't see a squadmate DLC for Mass Effect either, for I am pretty sure there are enough people that equally hate and love a specific member that it would become unprofitable.

All kinds of awesome DA2 concept art coming up lately. The old Merrill design looked great. She looked serious. I wonder if she was originally meant to not be dopey and childish. Her story arc would have been better if she wasn't a joke.

Personally, I'd prefer more focus on new characters, rather than flooding the game with as many cameos and returning characters as possible. I know the typical response is "Why don't we just have more of everything?" but let's not forget the typical Bioware response of "EA is a very poor, small company and we can't afford things like character models or more than 3 areas. Please pay us 5 dollars per piece of gear and 15 dollars per area or character."

Flemeth and Morrigan are big parts of the myth arc, so they can appear. Leliana is Orlesian, so that's begging for her to appear. Alistair's a king, so totally logical he could pop up there, and if he's a drunk I would love Loghain popping up just for the hilarity factor. I do want to see Shale, dwarf or golem, again, and Velanna and Sigrun, as the only Awakening companions left in the dust(Oghren got in Origins and Awakening, so not counting him), they deserve some cameo showing their growth. And seeing Sten as the Arishok would be badass. And tbh, I kinda want Tallis to appear too, but as like an Ant-Qunari extremist because the Qun betrayed her somehow, but I don't care too much bout that. And Aveline. Just becase she's awesome.

Oh yeah... think about DLC even before game is out, and then cry about something should be a part of the game itself, cry about DLC already on the disc (hi Capcom) etc. People's lack of self respect (and wallet's pride) will never stop to amaze me...

The developers stated they wouldn't do any more DLCs like Leliana's Song or Darkspawn Chronicles where you don't import/play your protagonist/party from that particular game - because apparently they were unpopular / didn't make enough money to justify. Any DA3 DLC will most likely have you playing the DA3 protagonist.

That's good news. I would've been odd if they followed that trend again.

Don't think it's impossible. But you may get your wish regardless since in that comic recently, she was captured with Alistair and Varric and forced to submit to the Qun.

Leliana, yes! I'm not too sure about Zevran he makes my characters a little too uncomfortable.

Your lack of Merrill disturbs me.  It is disappointing to me that she will likely not return or at most have a tiny unsatisfying cameo. 

Oghren has better odds though, so I'd just beg for him. 

Also more Sandal, but thats a given.
