Yes.
I'd have said "no" a few months ago, but Bioware can explain away less obvious choices for characters, and proved they can be useful and fun to play.
We only assume that the protheans were all harvested, but the collectors were made through a process of forced evolution and cybernetic implantation. The reapers could have a diverse backup gene-pool in the form of protheans in stasis, in case they wanted to "re-write" their DNA to follow a different evolutionary path in the future, in order to fulfill a certain distinctive function. These facilities could be on board a reaper in collector space, or maintained by collector drones themselves. I wouldn't even be against some form of prothean/collector hybrid as a playable race - insect minds are often all about teamwork and we've seen how volus support powers have become popular. BW could go to town dreaming up new ones for protheans or collectors... they just need a story to support them being brought to the alliance, like having their minds rewritten via memory shards.
Protheans are inevitable - I'm just hoping they are done in a unique way, and not just Javik clones with dark channel and existing grenades.

If BioWare can retcon it sufficiently like the Volus.

No.
Or yes, if they made it the ultimate troll character by only letting one player across all platforms use him at any one time. If someone else is in a game with it somewhere in the world; tough luck, pick another character.

If you don't give a damn about lore, why on earth do you want protheans? Lore is what defines a prothean. It's not the powers, anyone can be given the powers Javik had. If you don't care about who and what protheans are (aka lore) then all you are playing them for is the shape of the back of their head.

Hate to break it to you but no thinking person plays multiplayer for lore

Possibly.
I just doubt it would add in anything new. All Javik's powers are already in the MP, and I think that a lot of people will not like it. Just like the autokicking with the volus right now. Besides, didn't Bioware already say that retaliation was the last DLC pack for MP?
I'd much rather like a female Turian or Drell. But I doubt we'll ever get to see 'em.

Put me down as Undecided
If Green Biotics, yes
If not, no point, just another racial appearance and we already have Dark Channel.
