No. The current races offer plenty of possibilities. There's no need to completely shatter the lore, ruin Javik's story and make the Reapers seem incapable. Add Council Spectres and the special forces for the existing (non-extinct) races. I for one would love to see a Spectre working alongside two N7s and an STG Salarian, for example.

Simply put, don't you think multiplayer protheans would tarnish that garbage amount of $10 you spent on from ashes. Don't you think it will ruin the epicness and emotional attachment Javik has at the end of the game? Whether the last prothean should commit suicide to join his fallen comrades or travel with Liara sharing the stories he had fighting reapers?
Collectors were awesome enough

Javik's facility wasn't the only one. He had Eden Prime, another had Ilos... they probably had more given they were rather isolated when the relays were shut off.
Collectors are around so Prothean DNA is still present if not being outright manufactured by the Reapers. They remake the Rachni by engineering a queen and then augmenting her offspring so who's to say they aren't doing the same with Protheans to make Collectors.
Other colonies may have had the resources to survive in isolation. If the Leviathans can do it at the bottom of an ocean on an outlying world; possibly any race could. The galaxy is a big place with small pockets of population following the relay network and many relays are shut off.
Plenty of in-game lore about mysterious ships and unexplored worlds. Any one of them could be used as an avenue of re-introduction both in SP and MP.

1.) Ilos was shut down only to house a few Prothean scientists -- these however, when woken from stasis, died in attempting to alter the signal reapers use to activate the Citadel relay.
2.) EDI, as well as extra dialog from Mordin, stricly say that Collector DNA is far to modified to become reversed engineered. To do such a thing would require years upon years of research.. research not worth investing due to the war with the reapers... also keep in mind Reapers are far more advanced than anything we can comprehend --this is the magical explaintion for cloning a extinct speices to lay reaper eggs.
3.) Leviathin is apart of a speices that was the apex known in the universe (from what we know) at that given time. So powerful and advanced, they have the complete knowledge to resist reaper forces effectively.
Extra.) For a set of years after the protheans lost the war, the extinction was still in effect -- reapers roamed the galaxy wiping out all prothean bunkers.. Javik was a special case, Eden Prime took years and years of digging the planet up just to find a pocket full of prothean ruins. Currently, This is not a good investment of war assest when it comes to fighting reapers..
