Serious question, not trying to stir up trouble. But for ME4, the very first thing i'm looking out for is who's the lead writer. Because if it's Mac Walters, you couldn't kill any interest or enthusiam from me any faster. I think he's a pretty good character writer, but imo after ME3, it's not wise to have him as lead writer anymore.

Casey is a damn good game director, ME1, 2, and 3. Along with KOTOR, that's a great record. So I'm looking forward to whatever he's doing next.

Mac is a solid writer, he goofed on the end of ME3, but everyone makes mistakes. I'll give him another shot.

Well, thereotically, ME4 would be the beginning of a story, and they're excellent at beginning stories. Now, when said game is about to end... well...

Yeah, I'd give them another shot. I mean, they did bring us the first two games. I think they deserve another shot.

I believe the lead writer for ME1 and ME2 was David Karpyshyn but then he left part way though ME3 to work on The Old Republic.

I believe he left near the begining/middle of ME2, near the end of creation of the story, but changes were made after he left.

I would give them another shot, if I would hold companies accountable after making mistakes and never buy their games again, I wouldn't buy another Ubisoft, Blizzard, or Bethesda game either.

Not really,
me3, in my opinion, was sub-par (not to mention da2 and swtor were terrible) and the ongoing "fingers in our ears" approach at bioware is frustrating

Well, not Walters.

Only beef I have with Casey really is putting so much trust in Walters, so if you take him out of the equasion things would probably go back to being great.  IDK.

I don't think Walters is a good writer, I think he belongs on some ****ty fox action show like 24.  Some of the other writers are great, I especially respect Weekes for the Tuchanka arc, but I don't like the stuff that Walters led on, namely the intro, the ending, and Leviathan.  They feel like one of those ****ty cable action drama shows that try to pretend they are good by making things fast paced and flashy but in the end its just to cover up and distract you from how shallow, poorly paced and nonsensical they are.

For the most part my only significant beef with the game is writing decisions, that and whoever thought the tali photoshop **** was a good idea.  The rest of the overall game is great, so.. just get rid of Walters and I'd be happy.

Again I love how much the mass effect 3 forum hates mass effect 3, it's really amazing. I think they know what they are doing so they have my faith.

I fortunately gave up on the idea that I need to own games the day they are released.
Wait a few months and the stores will lower their prices and the internet will lower your expectations (more than any listing of writers could). :)

"Not on your knife. I mean, not on your life!"

After all, I'm still waiting for "the promise I was kingdomed. No, that's not right, the kingdom I was promised."

Sadly I doubt many will get the reference. :)

Thankfully for them, the decision is out of my hands. I've never really been impressed with Mac's work. Garrus was pretty flat in ME1 and in ME2 he was a vigilante- that basically writes itself.

Casey seems to be stuck in a room with mirrors reflecting his own enthusiasm back at him without properly criticizing his own work or ideas. I call it the "George Lucas Effect".

No. I've been severely unimpressed with them since Space Terminator. And the still nonsensical melting down of humans to make spaceships.

Mac Walters is a good character writer. A very good character writer.

For plots... he can outline them, but it would be better to leave the execution of the plot to someone else. Someone who's not afraid to change a five year old vague outlined ending in favor of one that actually fits with the theme and structure of the story that's actually been developed.

I would they did a great job so what many did not like the end of ME3. I was one of them I admit but there is a point we just forgive and move on. What is the sense of dragging it on. Hell yes I would and will trust Hudson and Walters.

They have been part of the ME team since day one so of course they should be part of the process.
