Hi,
I was given Dragon Age PS3 for Christmas and am really getting into the world. A big part of DA:On is the Codex with all the background info, and the plentiful text on screen. However I am finding it really difficult to enjoy the game as the font size is too small and it strains my eyes to read it, and I have to sit much nearer to the TV then my sofa, which is uncomfortable on the eyes for the rest of the game.

I am using a 40" tv, my eyesight (with help) is perfect. My TV is not too far away. The rest of the game is perfectly viewable. I haven't had any problems with other games, or RPGs like Oblivion so I think that the problem is the text  size.

Is there any way that Bioware could release a patch that will allow users to select a LARGER TEXT FONT?

If your TV is a SDTV you're out of luck. If you can use component/s-video cables then use those. If you don't have that option then you're in the same boat as people who been playing majority of the newer games. Time for an upgrade buddy.

Thanks for your answer. But I AM using a 40" 1080p HDTV.

Surely it's not too much trouble for developers to have a 'choose text size' option? e.g. Normal, large, small etc?

Are all your settings right under video output on your PS3? I play on a 20" and I have no problems reading it.

I am having the issue. I play on a 32 inch HDTV and the text is real small. Its clearer since getting the new tv as the old standard one was dying.. but seeing how I am near sighted and all this is hell for me.

I use a 28inch SDTV (It must be over 10 years old now) and have no trouble reading the text in this game since i turned down the brightness and contrast a bit. Maybe try that on yours aswell, it might help

I don't know what the UI is like on the PS3 (saw this thread in the topic list), but on the PC it is pretty small, mainly because it doesn't really scale well with your display resolution. So some will say it looks fine, while others will say it's microscopic.



The UI is done in Flash basically, and they'd probably have to change some of if its design to give you the option of making it larger.



I've been doing some of it for the PC version, and it's not as easy as just making the fonts bigger. That being said, they'd have a much easier time of doing it than I have, given what I have to work with.
