Bioware also denied the ME3 leak so that doesn't mean much. They're obviously not going to flat out confirm a leak when they want us to be speculating currently.

Chris denied the ME 3 leak because it's his job to talk to the community and he can't announce anything before marketing give the go ahead.

David is a writer and not obliged to tell us anything. If he says 'it's not 10' then it's probably not ten. Of course, he might be counting temporary companions or there might be a situation where you can have one companion but not the other etc, etc, etc.

Edit: Except David didn't say their wouldn't be 10. He said not to trust the survey because it's inaccurate.

I think that is hitting the nail a bit, that the companions will depend on various factors from both previous games, and choices made during the game. Hell, I bet background might determine things as well, going the ToR route in some ways.

As long as we have 2 healers with different personalitys I'll be happy regardless, hated being forced to take Anders everywhere. Unless playing Spirit Healer..

I agree it would be great to have 2 healers

I think Cassandra is all but confirmed, but as my friends would remind me that doesn't mean she will be. She could be a major npc. She is possibly the leader of the loyalist seekers and is nearing her 40's which honestly doesn't bother me but could other.

Suffice to say that I REALLY want her as a companion and of anyone she is the most likely.

Only thing I want to know about the companions at this point is are there going to be returning companions and who will they be? Morrigan has some role and Sten is the new Arishok, but who else? I know The Warden and Hawke are done. Hope there is a cameo with them or statues dedicated to them or something. What about old friends or enemies or love interests?

If I missed a release about this could someone direct me to it

the only thing new for this 9 month old thread is varric, Morgan and Cassandra in the e3 teaser. None have been confirmed as companions.

Is this the notorious survey that I keep hearing about in other threads? Which NPC's were mentioned by name? I know Cullen was mentioned, but that's it. Most of us are assuming that we will get Morrigan, Varric, Cassandra, and a Kossith Qunari based on the E3 trailer. Many of us are hoping that we'll get Leliana, Tallis, Rhys, or Sandal based on hanging plot threads. I'm interested very much in what else was "leaked" or in the survey, mainly because I keep hearing about it but I've yet to see it laid out in one place what exactly was in it...

I have the worry that she's more an Anderson or TIM type, a major character, but not a party member.

Here's to hoping none of those things in the OP come true and they mix up the character formulas a little. Let's see, how about:

-The main sword-and-board tank character is an old spindly elf lady.
-The stabby rogue companion has the exact same personality as renegade female commander Shepard from Mass Effect, complete with Jennifer Hale's voice. She is not a love interest and solves things by punching them. If you hit on her you get punched.
-One of your mage companions is a smooth talking trickster type of apostate who's really good at hiding the fact that he's a mage and never talks about mage stuff. "I'm just a simple merchant..." All of his starting spells will be focused on illusion and crowd control.

Hmm, what else would make for a good Bizarro World party?

I didn't know about her age, but if that's accurate its a plus in my opinion. Mature companions makes for more interesting party composition and dialogue and (hopefully) quests/missions relating to them. Ideally both one male and female companion should be 40ish and romanceable. Since its a computer game they can still be attractive enough that less mature players won't complain. I would just love to have someone experienced in my party with lots of secrets and stories to tell. For example someone similar to Duncan. Or Leliana.

Please, Maker, no Tallis.  I go to Chantry every day for a year if you'll spare me.

Yeah, she wasn't that terribly annoying in Mark of the Assassin (she was still annoying mind you), but I watched Redemption recently and she was just full blown Mary Sue in that.

If they are going to use any Redemption characters, I would hope they would bring in Nyree.
