Afternoon

Just got around to watching it .. ok I guess.. But really.. not a very subtle way to try to gain sympathy for the Chantry/Seekers/Templars ready for DA3 Inquisition.. or was I  the only one that got that impression?

Steve ..Apostate and all round nice guy .. Down with the Maker and  his evil puppets!! Posted Image

I think it did a pretty good job of making the Circle mages sympathetic, as well. It was over-the-top in the blood mage protrayal, though.

i hope the game ignores the movie too, but if it does what was the purpose of the movie? just another way to make another quick buck.

That would be me.. Ingulf the mad is a char from a book that I empathised with and still do after all this time.. the name is a hold over from NWN`s 1 & 2 days..when I had to rejoin in 2009 I kept the same account name.

I hope the game ignores the movie because then Cassandra could be a LI.

If the game goes with the movie then she's already taken by Regalyan.

A character killing a dragon with one stab? Why doesn`t she teach this overpowered skill to the entire party? Its just dumb if she doesn`t.

She is the decedent of great dragon slayers, maybe it's in the blood.

I don't have an issue with it. There were good mages and bad mages, as well as good Templars and bad ones. It was balenced, much better then DA2 in that reguard. The fights may have been over done, but so what it was a good story and it showed that there are posotives to the Chantry and Templars.

Mike Laidlaw said the movie was canon, unfortunately.

I just watched this yesterday morning. I really liked the art style. I'm not a fan of anime stuff but apparently, I'm obsessed with Dragon Age. I felt the mages and dragons were not threatening at all. Mages were holding the dragon down with chains in their hands? Firing weak spells at the Seekers? ok.

My biggest gripe would be Cassandra of the movie did not feel at all like Cassandra in the game. I wouldn't have guessed they were related let alone the same person. I guess the movie takes place not to far from when she interrogates Varric so its not like she is that much younger.

Yeah I agree she was nothing like game!Cassandra who was way less annoying.
Plus the whole "Cassandra is so super special and awesome and takes down down ogres with one stab and dragons with two" thing was also terribly annoying.
And of course that Mary Sue like quality to her didn't exactly make the movie less predictable.
I know the movie is canon but I for one am choosing to completely ignore it because otherwise I'd be hating Cassandra before we ever 'really' met her...

Actually DotS takes place in 9:22. Cass interrogates Varric in 9:40. So, I imagine she has matured quite a bit since DotS.

^this. She was still pretty much a teenager in Dawn of the Seeker.

Doesn't mean he's still alive by DAII or that Cassandra pursued the relationship...

Well, That changes things. For some reason I got the feeling the events were a lot more current. A character can definitely change in almost twenty years.

Cassandra was the main reason I watched the movie to begin with. Her character struck a cord with me after the Arishok battle and I wanted to know more about her. I would love it if she was the protagonist of a novel.

I hope she turns up to be married or something!

That would stuff a rag down the throat of all those pesky little Penthagast lovers!

In current days , Nevarra 's ruler Markus Pentaghast is about to die , no direct heir , except his brother who's pretty old and has no children.

In Nevarra , there's a powerful order of mages , the Mortalitasi. They are experts in mummification and ]maybe necromancy. They believe when somebody die , their soul cross the fade and a spirt gets misplaced [/color]and need a host.

Ouside of Nevarra city , there is the Grand Necropolis. It looks ]like a city , with mansions ,gardens , bathhouses , ballrooms...

Ha! Even if she was married it would matter little. King Cailan was married to Queen Anora and was still planning on hooking up with Empress Celene. If Penthagast was married I think it would add a interesting romance development, instead of all your companions being single and eager.
