Why is it actually BAD, though? It isn't a distinctly good thing, in your mind, but how is it BAD?rollblows wrote...
it was a bad idea cus its ****ing useless
"oh i has banner look at meh epeen"
Personally, I think it gives people a reason to play the game for longer, which I consider good. Sure, it's just epeen, but that holds interest a **** of a lot better than no sense of progression at all.

The challenge system is a better indication of skill.
However, players also must realize that it's also a better indication of the amount of free time.
Besides, it's quite exciting and fun

I know that I was up all night grinding through blood pack. I don't have it yet, but i'm close. 45 matches away.

Certain types of players will find any excuse to kick. I would like to see more rewards/challenges for teamplay, though. I'm not sure how it would work or how the game would keep track of them, but there must be some way to reward players for playing well as a team.
Like giving scoreboard points to the Volus who keeps the rest of the team alive, or duos who are good at priming/detonating combos, etc.
Operation points. The points gained from deactivating, hacking, escorting, and delivering. Would be extremely easy. I'd suggest making a thread, actually. It would be easy to pursue.
You have a point. You could give awards/points to people who successfully protect the deactivating person and or the delivery person, as well.

you don't need to do all the grabs, just enough melees. Although the grabs do count towards towards melee. Spec a Brogan and go ape in SilverTrae ThaThruth wrote...

I'm 2% off from getting the Cyber Warrior one. Didn't even have to do much cos much cos my demolisher is lethal at bringing down Geth on any map - arc grenade to bring down shields and homing grenade to bring down armor. Even those annoying bombers are no match, can take down 2 of them with 2 'nades and my teammates are thankful for it

Did the grabs on Giant Bronze Cerberus, I would get +40 each game so it didn't take too long.
Here is a tip thread for the challenge;

You find people like this in any/all games. When I played on SWTOR and WoW both (not at the same time...I've not got that much free time to toss around), you'd inevitably get instances like this when doing pick up groups.
I've actually gotten nothing but love from both people joining my sessions and hosting sessions in regards to banners. The "Death Guard" banner gets lots of love, and I've had people start sticking around in my games despite the fact that I'm running Silvers on a rotation of London/Hazard Reactor/Vancouver for myself and a friend to finish our respective challenges (I'm doing Survivor, he's doing Defender) because they want to get the Death Guard banner after seeing it in play.

challenge system gives me something to go after now. If I can get a Quarian banner / background I'll be happy =)
With N7, non-promoting players get nothing.
With challenge, every play counts toward some kind of challenge.

It is inevitable. The cycle must continue.

it causes people to go for the challenges in particular rather than passively pick them up as the person in question plays.
Well earning challenge points requires you to change it up quite often, and I don't see that as a bad thing for the longevity of this game.

If for nothing else, I'm now using different weapons and builds that I've never really used before, making the game more interesting.
Just as an example, Until the last couple days, I've always hated the Claymore. I've always preferred guns that were like the Piranha. But after many games of earning the weapon challenge for it, I have a new-found appreciation for the Claymore.
