Whoa man.

So what you are trying to say is that, even though Led Zeppelin isn't around anymore and Led Zepagain is based on their songs, they aren't actually Led Zeppelin?

Thats crazy stuff right there man.

EC was retcon of their original ending to make it not more believable but more swallowable, ofc only for those which were looking for polishing of old endings and for those which look for logical explanation... well guys we are screwed...

For all practical purposes, the difference does not matter. A perfect copy will act like the original, and if the original doesn't exist any longer, it's perfectly practical to claim it is the original. Nobody will be able to tell the difference anyway.

Origional: "I am commander Shepard" (Human)
Copy: "The man that sacrificed for my existence" or close to (Harbinger)

How would you think he is the same in any logical way? Everyone would notice a difference Image IPB

ame memories, same personality, same morals/principles... the only difference is Shepard doesn't have an organic body.

Shepard's mind was transhumaned(don't know if how that word's used), so it is the same person. Look at Virtual Aliens, are they just copies too?

How is an AI who clearly says that it IS NOT Shepard, Shepard?

Holy cow, this is way beyond denial at this point.

This isn't Shepard putting his/her brain into a robo body, anything that isn't exactly that makes it a copy, and a copy IS NEVER, ever, in any universe the same.

All Shepard says is "the person I was" which means Shapalyst recognizes itself as not human anymore. I don't know why I'm defending Control so much(the principle of transhumanism i guess) since I choose Synthesis anyway.

What species was Commander Shepard?

WHAT DOES Commander Shepard LOOK LIKE!?

It does not in any way matter if it was a perfectly exact replica of Shepard, it still is not Shepard, I don't understand why this is so hard to understand for some people.

So someone has to look the same all the time to be the same person?

NO someone has to be the same person to be the same person.

This is an apple Image IPB

This is the exact same image of the exact same apple Image IPB

Do you see the difference?

The difference is that the second apple isn't the same as the first one because it isn't the one that was originally posted.
I know this is pretty advanced stuff, I would suggest watching the science channel, Morgan Freeman has a very good television series that can explain this to you.

You're talking about cloning, which I agree makes different things than original even if genetically identical. I'm talking about transhumanism, which had Shepard downloaded into new Catalyst but retaining everything that makes Shepard Shepard.

That doesn't matter, in the slightest.

Also Sheplyst says it isn't Shepard, so it isn't Shepard, drawing a picture wasn't simple enough so I'm just gonna fall back on good old fashion concrete evidence.

Also I'm going to bed.

You can't copy a sentient being and make it the exact same, or for that matter any animal/creature.
It is never the same.

That image is the exact same because it is only image that was copied and pasted twice.
If it was an actual apple it would be different.

Hater? A label created by the fanboys to give voice to their destruction. In the end, what they chose to call us is irrelevant. We simply... are.

I'm okay with them going the route of explaining the endings (instead of changing), but they certainly haven't explained them enough for me to remain interested in anything other then having the endings explained more :)

I think they will eventually tho :)

Shepard is only shepard when he stays Shepard.
This control thing, is only an altered virtual version of Shepard.

I don't expect to ever see you in an IT thread unless you are in incredibly unwavereing support of it.

You can beleive in transhumanism all you want, but when Sheplyst says it is not Shepard MULTIPLE times, the only rational thing to beleive is that it isn't, and then use your brain to deduce that if something isn't something that it simply isn't.

No, I despise the Indoctrination Hypothesis personally, but respect others wish to believe it.
Again, I'm not pro-Control, I'm just giving them a possibility, just like yours is. But if it makes you feel better, I'll openly conced that Shepalyst=/=Shepard as likely as Shepalyst =Shepard..

As stated, has same personality, morals, memories, etc. so it can be argued that it's not altered as well.

white knighters? Lame lol

I hated the original endings and bashed them, Bioware and StarBrat since the day i rejoined the BSN, all the way up til my EC download was completed at 5:30 am on June 26....that's 3 months of straight up bashing everything about the last 10 minutes of the game and anybody that had anything to do with it. So when I found out that StarBrat wasnt completely removed and Indoc Theory wasnt being implemented, I already knew EC was going to suck. (My posts don't lie)

But it didn't. And since I was thoroughly satisfied by the EC, that makes me a hooker? Right on bro lol whatever makes you feel better about the fact that you are simply hater: picking apart anything and everything to make yourself feel better about your own point of view. Hell, I could tear ME2 apart far worse than ME3....but it seems the cool thing to do here is to hate on something while its current and then praise it after something new has been released a few years down the line.

Game's still pretty mediocre though,
