Claymore is the heaviest shotgun in the game(tied with the crusader X but heavier at I), which would lead you to believe it's the strongest shotgun but yet it gets out DPS'ed by the Piranha, Reegar, and Wraith, even if we take reload cancelling into account(Basing this off of the browser app that displays weapon stats on N7 hub).
Reload Cancelled DPS default (no passive or attachments)
Claymore X - 668.1
Piranha X - 941.9
Reegar X - 3748.1
Wraith X - 679.2
The way i understand it, weight is supposed to be tied to weapon effectiveness making the player decide and try to find a balance of weapon and power reliance for their character yet i can have the best of both worlds by taking the other three over the claymore. I reccommend a buff in the form of faster reload cancelling and possibly damage to even up the weight/weapon effectiness balance.
Claymore is unimpressive

4 shots for bosses.
1 for infantry.
Sure... buff it I guess.
If you want them to give it the Krysae treatment next week.

If all you did was use the best guns and classes, wouldn't that be boring? Also each gun has its own place for different factions/maps/classes.
eg Human Soldier with Claymore is one of my favorite setups against reapers.

I don't use the Claymore because I'm not accurate enough with it, but even I don't feel the Claymore needs a buff per se. Well, not having to press the muzzle against an enemy to maximize it might be nice, but not critical per se...

The claymore is perfect. It needs no adjustment whatsoever. The piranha DPS assumes all of your wide spray bullets hit. It's fantastic on a GI or Destroyer, but mediocre to good on casters. It's not long range enough on any other class to be as effective as the claymore. The Claymore can be carried by much larger number of classes to great effect. Any infiltrator, various sentinels and any soldier.
The Reegar is simply not comparable to those other guns. It's a range limited continuous fire weapon.
The wraith offers the closest comparison. It's a damn good weapon, if you're lucky enough to get it to X. However, the vast majority haven't. But it's ultra rare, further negating the necessity for comparison.

The Claymore does not need a buff, it is the best weapon in the game.

Remember that shotguns work with pellets. Claymore has more pellets than any of those other shotguns.

Oh yes, let's just go ahead and buff the gun that can one shot any mook....
Edit: "Might I add it can one shot kill mooks across the map as well?"

No it doesn't, and how would that be relevant even if it did? It would be worse against armor, but that's about it.
All pellet based shotguns fire eight pellets per shot. The Talon fires six, but it's a pistol.

Another nerd that thinks dps numbers matter when they should just play the game itself

If anything the Claymore should be nerfed. It's too powerful in the wrong hands...

I think you mean in the right hands. In the wrong hands that cant aim it is nigh-useless

ignores shield gate,
People need to stop saying this about shotguns, because they dont. They use multiple pellets, The pellet that kills the shield experiences it, the others that hit "after" dont. So they bypass it, not ignore it. I know it might aswell be the same thing, it still annoys me though.

Here's a idea..How about you use the weapon and see for yourself ((if you haven't already)) Its not all bout dps. Alot of weapons fill roles that isn't just aobut sheer damage output. The claymore is one shot juggernaut. Even better with a shredder mod. The phirana and reegar are great weapon but the both suffer at range and take more more time to equate what the claymore does in one shot.

I'll admit it doesn't need more damage, but faster reload canceling would not suddenly break the gun. In fact faster reload canceling would mean nothing to a large portion of players who don't know how to RC in the first place.
